What do you see as something said of God is not nutty?
How can anyone know, unless God confirms something, that something is not nutty and is real?
I do not think we can know anything for sure unless God pops up to confirm it and he has not done do in any recordable way.
That is why our Gnostic Christian theology says to treat all the Gods as myths unless apotheosis drive one to an actual belief that doe not require faith as it is knowledge driven.
God fit’s in reality and does not have to be supernatural miracle working absentee God of hate and inequality like the Christian God.
Check the Vatican/Michael Angelo art of Satan. If that is a man then explain those breasts.
Satan looks like she pumps iron but she is definitely female.
If that was good enough for the Vatican to believe then it shows us what Christianity does in blaming women for most of our ills.
Perhaps that is why they have denied women and gays equality forever. That injustice should have ended generations ago.
GIA,
Will you never tire of pouncing on the ignorance of Bible thumping literalists long enough to realize that most Christians nowadays do not believe in such things as literal hells of everlasting torment? Neither do they believe in God as having enemies. According to Isaiah, God created both good and evil; and the evil is there for remedial purposes, not for everlasting estrangement. Seeing both good and evil allows free will so that we are not God’s puppets on the Earth. Satan simply means Adversary, from whom we can learn much.
Everywhere else in the world including other paintings.
The best part is, he already created a thread about that very thing, and a bunch of folks rolled their eyes/laughed. He simply won’t accept correction on this. To Irreleus, I’m not sure if most individual Christians believe in a literal hell or not. it’s certainly what most denominations teach.
Yeah, it’s hard to say what most Christians believe because there are just so many different interpretations, even without blatant cherry picking. However, in my experience, most church going Christians do seem to believe in a literal Hell. That pretty much jives with what you’re saying though as most church going Christians are of some particular denomination.
The idea that there is no literal Hell does seem to be a more modern trend, but I don’t think that idea has quite reached or convinced the majority of believers just yet.
You get over that. And it’s not much different than other ideologies either. Pick whoever- socialists, capitalists, Buddhists, I don’t care. If you did a survey of what every single person calling themselves by those terms believes, you’d get some crazy ass results. You see a lot of that on the internet, anti-x people criticizing X on the basis of what they heard some Xists say in a grocery store or whatever. There’s a place for it.
Yes and no? Eastern Orthodox Churches are claiming that all afterlife descriptions, heaven or hell, are extremely non-literal and that denominations making claims about what either place will be like or the formula that gets you into one or the other are misleading. I’m not a thousand years old and I only read English, so I don’t know if this is a new trend among them or not, but they certainly aren’t know for changing their stances to be hip.
We are talking what began as the Catholic God and Catholic Satan so the only art worthy of showing what the Vatican and Catholics thought about Satan should be the Vatican. They invented her after all.
The Catholic God is also shown as male while most of the older Gods were thought of as androgynous. Question that as well in terms of what the Vatican depicted.
Believe as you like. I am just reporting the facts.
If evil is so good for us to know, why did God throw his fit onto A & E when they rightfully ignored him, from what you say, and they ate from the tree of knowledge?
Did God punish them for doing what you seem to say was the right thing?
Is that also why God is rewarding Satan?
Regards
DL
P.S. Check the stats as to how many believe in Satan and hell before telling us what most Christians believe.
You missed the mark.
As much as I find this distasteful, it reminds me of school. Teachers punished those who broke rules or decorum or whatever, but Children were not allowed to punish each other. It seems humans in general allow for experts to punish while peers are often not supposed to punish each other. Hence police, and such things.
Be it governance from governments or churches, both entities work to live for themselves and not other people and both try to make sheep instead of free thinking goats. Both want to make us thing we are too stupid to lead ourselves and both work hard to dumb us all down.
Both were invented by men to bring order to chaotic city states. Both have turned against God. Both were invented to train us to guide ourselves then work themselves out of jobs as people became more intelligent and capable. They chose to cripple our capabilities instead. They have turned against us. Especially religions and likely at the request of their political masters in order to deflect away from what our governments are doing to us.
