hello ier…I just don’t like this fight between theist and atheist…it leads nowhere…
I didn’t make up the equation. Gohmert did. And I did not say that I agree with it. If it leads nowhere, so be it. Gohmert is a fundy; and I dislike all fundies, but not all atheists…Fundies tell me I am going to hell for not believing exactly as they do.
my fundies don’t say that…they just think it…but I am thinking that they don’t know enough about science…and I think of words that are not nice…it is not nice for them to say that to you…I don’t think they follow jesus or the golden rule…

I was hoping both atheists and theists here would argue against Gohmert’s logic. I just can’t see how to do it.
We know nothing of ultimate beginnings–like what happened a second before the big bang, like who or what created God.
We live in the mesocosm, the middle place between extremes. Our senses of beginnings and endings are based on our mortality.
I don’t see any reason why an atheist would have to admit that. There are other possibilities that don’t necessitate God. I think Gohmert is relying on his audience’s naivety in believing that something which seems absurd at first glance must be false.

It seems that he is merely saying, “Nothing comes from nothing”. The idea is that the universe could not simply spring out of nothingness without a reason. That reason is what is named “God”.
…of course the whole Big Bogus Bag theory is childish nonsense to begin with, but that is another story.
I think both sides of the debate depend on postulating things that they can’t prove.
The irony is that in Buddhist philosophy, God IS nothingness.

The big bang’s just a theory so there’s no problem there.
The way I see the big bang is similar to the way I see dreams. The dreamer shifts consciousness and ‘Bang!!!’ suddenly, out of ‘nothing’, from one single point which happens to be everywhere simultaneously, a world explodes into existence. The further one travels throughout this dream world, the more it expands and the closer one looks into the smallest particles, the deeper it gets. On both scales, it’s never ending because consciousness itself is creating it as we go.

Perhaps cannot be proved logically, rationally. There are other forms of proof.
