Goodbye ILP

Since my thread of pure philosophy was locked (or censored), I am leaving this piece of shit excuse for a “philosophy” website:

Disproof of the Law of Identity

Good riddance and thanks for nothing moderators.

the thread has devolved into name calling on all sides… if you can’t play nice, you can’t play here…

Take care RU

i’m glad it’s locked. that thread sucked

It’s not hard to say that ILP isn’t the thriving center of philosophy.

If one flower wilts why not find another?

Personally i would rather try and nurse this one back to good health.

Thatis, if it is possible for philosophy to ever be in good health.

Philosophy thrives on ill health and diversity. We all come from different parts of the world, what is right for one will not be right for another. While ethics, morality and perspectives may be similar, there is enough difference to cause friction. I mean face it we are not Vulcans.

of course not… if we were vulcans we would starve…

there is no logical reason to believe the food that nourished me yesterday will nourish me today…

:sunglasses: If it nourished you yesterday it certainly won’t today. You already got the nourishments out of that food. If you tried , it would just be gross.

cute, but there is no logical justification for eating

-Imp

The only justification is survival. If you wish death then there would be no logic in food.
What types of food that caused you to survive yesterday will most likely cause you to survive today. If you recall Vulcans were big on odds within logic.

and if you’ll look at logic in its simplest form, there are no odds… true or false, yes or no…

the point is that vulcans (purely logical beings) cannot function

Kris,

What is the logic behind keeping a couple hundred cats and dogs? I mean, I can see the logic behind keeping chickens, rabbits, goats, a porker or two. I feed them, they feed me. I can even understand keeping a cat or two just to piss me off, and maybe a a couple of working dogs - as long as they don’t eat too much…

Logic is not just its simplest form. It must encompass all.

Tent, the logic of love is behind such an action.

Kris,

Love isn’t logical, love is irrational. How we deal with our irrationalities may contain logical constructs, but the base is irrationality. That was my point.

The rest was just zinging…

Love is not irrational. It is a rational survival mechanism for creatures of higher intelligence that are social by nature., Now a badger that loves would be irrational and illogical.

The emotions we call love are genetically hardwired. There is nothing rational about it. But attach any “rationale” on it you like.

Wrong my friend it is totally rational to a species that is social. Society is the teat that we all suckle from.

No one cares that you’re leaving; how egocentric. Just fucking leave, you tool.

There used to be something (maybe it’s still there) in the forum guidelines about this.

Hooray.

I read that too - it said if you’re gonna leave: just leave!
