Goodness

Before I start let me briefly state that I’m quite informal in terminology and classified categories of thought in philosophy. I’ll hardly ever state an ‘ism’ not on purpose, but because I find it very limited to do so and just state ideas as I see them.

What is the entity of human goodness? There are people that I know who see that ‘human spirit’… whatever the hell it is, it does not have to be religious. Why? Because I hated going to church and loved it when we left as a child! It is something good to understand or wonder because we either self-created this sense of goodness out of survival needs (The need to cope) or were we in reality a divine creature with a conscious choice to abandon the creator? Was a sense of goodness a need for survival? Other animals donnot need it. They only need their physical survival accomodations. That ageless question of our whereabouts from nothingness does not rest.

Unlike many think, ‘evil’ does not have to exist just because the good feelings do. Misery is the name given in the absense of happiness.

Thanks for reading; yes I know I’m unorganized as hell

What you are saying is, evil as such does not exist? It’s like dark, which is simply absence of light? But that solves nothing. A sociopath bent on harming others may not be able to “do” evil directly, but by “removing happiness” from others’ lives, the same thing is accomplished and that is evil. If absence of light creates dark, then dark exists. If absence of happiness creates evil, then evil exists. Evil comes into existence when there is reaction to the loss of happiness. (This is a very simplistic and crude way of stating it.)

Despite all the comparisons thought makes, there is no problem with our life as it is. We might as well handle this ‘happiness’ problem once and for all, now, and begin to live – what little is left for us.

If the question of how to be happy is dropped, then you begin to live, not bothering about happiness at all. That doesn’t exist, happiness doesn’t exist at all. The more you want it, the more you search for it, the more unhappy you remain. They, the search and unhappiness, go together.
