Google have been moving into software recently - the google video player (excellent piece of kit - never have any problems with it, have downloaded over 10 gigs of stuff from there) is meant to be a long term rival to windows media player.
Indeed, in the google software package you also get AVG free (which I use) and Zonealarm (which I use). They’ve made some good choices…
It is also a rival to youtube/metacafe and the like.
