That would not work since Muslims are everywhere, we would need to nuke the whole planet to oblivion, which would solve both sides of the pointless endless pseudo religious argument, by a) taking care of the religious side of the argument, (presumably God would then decide who was right or as is most likely just give up and damn everyone to hell) and b) taking care of the more pressing political and territorial arguments centered around resources, that are - I think you will agreee - hard to disupte when no form of intelligent life exists, not that it ever did anyway.
I feel there is also a moral problem with your suggestion, although for the life of me I can’t put my finger on it…?
I think this is just responsible politics. In Holland there was a time when the government would indiscriminately pay Imams to come over from Morocco and Turkey, and it was a big hassle and took a political murder for them to begin considering that perhaps there should be some sort of selection policy - or even perhaps a stop to importing imams.
You can not stop muslims from being muslim (it won’t work, that’s the only thing I agree on with Silhouette) but you can make sure that they get told the right stuff --for the moment I’m pretending that the standard liberal message is the right stuff simply because it is less moronic than the orthodox muslim one. What else would you have your government do? These religious orders are built to feed off aggression.
When someone attacks a Christian or a Muslim in terms of their beliefs, the belief will respond like the clever little program that it is, and simply increase in vigor. It’s like a perpetuum-parasite. You can only dissolve it by showing the prey-body alternatives, and that’s what the government appears to be trying.
