There is one critical difference between postmodern Nazi-German and ancient Græco-Roman conceptual elitism. The Nazi-German Aryan ideology was premised on racial inheritance as the form of its inherited greatness. This was a continuance of European monarchic governmental sentiment. But Græco-Romans premised their greatness and elitism on social, cultural, moral, and ethical Virtues. Virtues may or may not become inheritable. To the Græco-Romans, inheritance was unimportant. Because Græco-Romans focused on Virtues of character.
Moral Character > Racialism.
The Nazi-Germans broke from this tradition, with the introduction of stricter racial categories and eugenics. A man was born great, born Aryan. But this disconnects from the ancient concepts of greatness. To the truest Græco-Roman form of government, Imperialism, Empire, men must prove themselves Virtuous whether born into a racial caste or not. Therefore inheritance, while important, and while observed and tracked through time, meant very little compared to Moral character or Virtue.
In the United States today, people no longer believe or value Virtue. This was due to a disconnect between what Græco-Roman imperialism meant long ago, compared to what it turned into within the Holy Roman Empire in Central Europe.
The concept of value and virtue must be derived from the activity of expressing these. When instinct become conscious, moralizing begins. When virtue becomes morality, virtue, which Spinoza equates with power, has been weakened. Only the unconscious, a-moral expression of virtue is truly vital.
The Greaco Roman way of preserving virtue as a standard without moralizing was their state-art, representation of the highest virtue in the form of Gods. Indeed the nazi’s have given us only gruesomely pale shadows of these vital ethics. I do not agree that virtue and value is dead in the US. It has been trumped by morality and morality has been trumped by science.
Science can never become moral, but it can become vital, virtuous.
That’s it. The value of science, “Scientology”, has triumphed over the European Græco-Roman sentiments in the New World. Science is adverse to morality. Psychology and sociology take precedence, under the values of Egalitarianism and Equality…a distinctly Jewish, Christian, and Postchristian ethos and pathos.
Morality itself is devalued. A national culture of Individualism, anti-socialism, perpetuates this general attitude.
Our morality is dominated by “Consumerism”, economical subversion, capitalism, and Greed. Greed is our Virtue.
