Actually that is the one quote I don’t agree with. We have TOO MUCH compassion in some areas. We allow bad people to be made and born in this world for instance…
Everyone forgets: Man is a beast of prey, therefore men and women that are more predator / beast then human need to be watched, they exist in a “probation period”, before they qualify for the same rights as the rest who’ve shown themselves worthy by their lack of bad deeds.
In an ideal society, no one would have to ‘earn’ their rights because they would always act rightfully (no war, etc) because their will’s are so strong (stronger then fear, sexual hunger, other animal hungers).
Those are just words of course. If a young boy had sex with your older daughter is she sexually abusing him? In our society there is a double standard for instance: When an adult teacher fucks a student it’s a relationship, when a man does it, he’s a sexual predator.
And by opposing these people the same way they treat the world this problem only gets worse. If we want things to improve we must change ourselves first if we are to present a better way for everyone
Ideas that are bad or murky need to be either clarified or put in their place in the pecking order of the idea food chain, we’re trying for clarify what we are saying to one another.
When he said “the nature of the struggle is defined by the oppressor” he is correct in limited contexts but he didn’t go far enough. I was pointing out that a lot of silly things are considered “opressive” to an individual mind or the group mind.
It has to do with someones ego orientation, the truth of the matter is a lot of philosophy requires a lot of time to get through and we shouldn’t take shortcuts with blanket statements, we should balance them out when necessary and try to be clear and as fair as possible in presenting the perspectives necessary for full understanding.
Just as an example: In western culture their is a cult like worship of women because of the sexual power they hold, so they get to define men as “predators”, they are seen as empathtic, caring, nurturing creatures… the truth of the matter is that this is usually far away from reality. Everyone has serious flaws if you look close enough. My own mother was a very cold person for instance, very distant, uncaring and harsh.
And aside from that, have you ever seen the looks on the faces of the alleged “victims” that you’re talking about? These young guys who are like 16 or so just grinning ear to ear because their hot teacher is putting it on them? Alot of people might argue that there’s no oppression going on at all in cases where older women “take advantage” of younger men. On the other hand, old men messing with young girls is completely different. At the very least it doesn’t constitute a fulfillment of the young girl’s fantasy. Females are weaker than males as well, both physically and mentally. I think that’s a factor also.
I think the problem with this argument is that it takes the very PC standard these days to a twisted extream. As we know men and women are differnet, its not sexist its fact. Men are stronger, more sexually active and cannot be conventionally raped, (meaning forced rape) because of the errection. Women are at the primitive level which is what rapists of his caliber work at are completely at the mens mercy, that is the difference. However I do have a problem with the underage consential rapes that have been discussed here. In my oppinion there should be a seperate crime here because t is not the same as rape in my eyes.
How did rape get brought into this anyway? You think I’m a rapist or something? All I’m saying is that I liked it when Mandella said that the nature of the struggle is defined by the oppressor. Gee whiz.
