Greek spirit-poisons

So, the theory / idea is this :

At some point in history, Greeks fell in love with a metaphysical system.

The system that places proof-ability beyond humanity and physical matter.

God is considered a non physical spirit, having no body.
Spirit becomes something of heaven which is a higher
reality beyond human reach, perception and influence.
Basically, something so “high up” that it is useless
to the common need for things on earth.

“Beyond the physical.”
“Inpercievable but somehow also known with certainty.”

The release from reality.
Diving deep into fantasy.

The Greeks had discovered an addictive poison for philosophers.

Yes, Plato did.
Ironically, Socrates was very much in love with physicality, just not his own. Maybe Platonism is the dis-owning of the self. Given that the Greek self was so rich, the act of disowning it produced a great deal of metaphysical substance, shadow.

Trying to trade in physical for metaphysical.
Religious business.
Religious trade.

Capitalism marries metaphysics:
Politics plays people, like a game.
All kinds of disease combines to form
false enlightenment, based in fantastic
images and concepts. The power of
Apollo / Light / Ra. To use beauty of
images as proof of correct realness.

But these deities are living beings, rooted in the living power of the Sun.

I’m not referring to good spirits.
I’m referring to religious doctrine.
