Guilty Pleasure

I am the glass that you break in two
over every mistake you make me into
I am the calm that I claim
cut- but still healing

After every teary eyed goodbye
You’re running home to be good
little girl placed behind
glass china
perched upon a mantle.
I am wet sand that you mold
Turning God into gold
its currency worthless

You’re playing
amnesiac at the park
used to be easier before
you started speaking in tongues
Where do you keep yourself?
Somewhere
Behind the eyes
there are lies
that can’t be forgiven
But either way you are
We can both act easy
Either way you are
Only you can feel guilty.

this is extremely beautiful and meaningful. it flows and really evoked feelings in me. i loved the beginning, ‘cut - but still healing.’ so true. even when we are cut and hurt, the body immediately begins to heal itself … we can only see blood but the body is immediately beginning to heal, so resilient.

love the part about going insane in the park … fucking BRILLIANT

Wow, I’m ecstatic you were able to connect to this like you did. Thank you for taking time to respond, man.

I’m a woman

Naturally!
