At eSangha, a for profit Buddhist site I suggested a similar section as you have created with your hall of shame. I also suggested they create a ‘retreat or time out section’ for members that get banned, so the banned members could still have a support section for their benefit or to make apologies and interact on a limited basis within that section with other members. But unfortunately when you criticize many a forum about their hiding behavior, discrimination and prejudices you get banned as was the case at eSangha for me as well as many others.
Many times forums are sanitized and run by fear and deceit instead of truth. The difference between an authority and an authoritarian is this. An authority speaks from a place of truth and such speaks as an authority. Whereas an authoritarian rules by fear and not by truth. For the truth stands on it own and the authoritarian stands on their ego. You have shown very good judgment with providing the hall of shame. It helps to show others the difference between ‘wrong speech and right speech’ so to speak.
What is wrong speech?
Any time we disallow others of their opinions or right to exist it is wrong, for we would not like our right to exist being disallowed us. I am all in favor of debate and discussion of principles but when the parties start to attack the personalties and not the principles that is the turning point. In addition, when people use abusive language towards another member it speaks very clearly as to the condition of their inner peace. So, much can be learned from such lessons instead of just sweeping them under the rug as many forums do.
Keep up the great work with your promotion of openness and education for your members…Socrates would be proud of you.
