Warning Spoilers ahead.

Ok I just finished reading this book and I must say that I really enjoyed it. But since we won’t be reading the final installment for several years, according to JKR, I was hoping for some reasonable speculation about who RAB is and the like.

Here is my first thought about something I believe will happen:

Olivander has ‘gone missing’. Well is it any wonder. Voldemort and Harry’s wands seem to repel each other so it is no small leap of faith to think that Voldemort has captured him and is forcing him to make a new, more powerful wand.

Any thoughts?

how blatantly homophobic!

wands that repel each other… please…

I am suprized the PC police haven’t ripped the book apart for that allready…

but I am glad you enjoyed it

Yes, I really do enjoy it. Not beyond old Crooked to appreciate good literature. But hasn’t anyone else read it yet? Come on people I’m dying to discuss. Please!!!

Has harry gotten laid yet?

Well I recently finished the Half Blood Prince and I thoroughly enjoyed the latest installment. This one was probably the darkest yet, for obvious reasons, and I still cannot get over the fact that Dumbledore is dead…it is a great loss to the wizarding world. I am very concerned with the future Harry, Ron, and Hermione have set forth for themselves. Honestly Harry has just been either lucky or with someone more capable in all the dangerous situations he has been in, what is he going to do when it’s just him? That is why Ron and Hermione have to accompany his of course. For Harry’s sake I hope his friends stay up to par with their past performances. I am still wondering why he would not like to stay with Ginny, she fully supports him and his goals, we all need someone on our sidelines in my opinion.

Crooked - I totally agree that Ollivander has been taken to produce a new wand for Voldemort in order to take that advantage away from Harry. It makes perfect sense! But I am upset that Rowling did not delve deeper into the investigation, this is a very important key to defeating Voldemort! As far as R.A.B. - I have wracked my brain to remember any character in the past with those initials, and yet no avail! This is really going to bother me until we find out who took the real Horcrux ( I forgot the exact word) This person could either be very helpful to Harry in his endevour or detrimental, this is to remain unseen until the next book…This is a definite cliff-hanger and I am dying to know how this series ends. Hurry up Rowling!!! I’m sure you agree with me!

Thank godness. Finally someone who is wanting to discuss HP in a real manner. Ok, here goes: If you remember RAB’s letter, it says I will destroy this as soon as possible. This meaning the horcrux. Maybe that horcrux has already ben destroyed. Any thoughts?

I do believe that the horcrux is destroyed but the fact remains that they intended to destory the horcrux, not being clear to the fact that they already have destroyed the horcrux is worrisome. Why would the individual not destroy it on the spot? Was it to make a point to the Dark Lord? Things we cannot know until the next book when R.A.B. is identified.

Okay, I just finished reading the book yesterday and I enjoyed it a lot, but want to scream at JKR.

I mean, Ginny and Harry FINALLY get together and they can’t be together! Bah! This book didn’t enthrall me most of the way through like Order did, so I voted for that one, but all the books are awesome!

As for RAB, my guess is Remulus Black. No middle name ever given. And does anyone else not feel right about Snape being a turncoat? It doesn’t fell right, something is up I feel.

If Black is RAB, then I think that Voldemort might have gotten him before he destroyed the Horcrux. And maybe it takes something powerful to destroy the Horcruxes so he couldn’t do it on the spot. Dumbledore seemed to keep the ring for longer than necessary before destroying it, there must a reason.

And I’m wondering whether that poison that Slughorn took from Aragog will come up later as well. You know this isn’t going to be just Harry/Ron/Hermione out there doing everything. The Order’s gotta bring their part as well.

But, I’m mad about Ginny being ditched. I hope she brings it like Mary Jane at the end of Spiderman 2, and decides that Harry doesn’t get to leave just because its dangerous. If Ron and Hermione are staying, she should too.

Hello sky,

Jaded and I had a thought that RAB might be Black also. I think it makes sense. But maybe it is already destroyed?

Also, what if Mundungus stole it? I haven’t re-read the book yet and I seem to recall he took a lot of items out of the Black house. Was the necklace one of them? Could Harry be the final Horcrux? :astonished: I hope not, but I guess it is possible.

As for Snape: I believe that Dumbledore asked him to kill. After all, he made Harry promise to force that poison down his throat. Why couldn’t this be part of Dumbledore’s plan? Snape is now a ‘confirmed’ death-eater. Who would doubt him now? All the better if he really is part of the Order. But no matter who Snape is really working for, one thing is sure: Someone will kill him in the final book. Either Harry or Voldemort.

Finally, about Harry and Ginny: I’m with you on this one. I have a feeling that she will show up and stand by Harry when it matters most. If not, bad JKR, very very bad! :evilfun:

Hello F(r)iends,

Am I the only one that thinks that a loser like Ron shouldn’t hook up with a superior like Hermione? Damn Weasleys!
