Has anyone seen the movie Iron Sky?

Here’s the premise, some of the Nazis in 1945 escaped Earth and built a base on the moon, where ultra Nazis could live in Hitler’s perfect world order. The US lands on the moon and their astronauts are captured, starting a new war between the Nazis on the moon and the world. But some Nazis on coming to Earth soon realise that the Dictator the movie was actually mocking hitler, and so on. You get the idea…

Oh my God I so loved that premise, it’s not a new movie but I can’t believe I missed it, it’s as guache as snakes on a plane. But it has a lot of comedy value, and the Nazis turn out to be less of a bad guy than you would think. Satire at its finest.

Can anyone else think of a movie I missed that I should not of. Wouldn’t mind some suggestions, but I really would recommend that film, it even has a version of the Hitler bunker scene that is an internet meme.

Quotes:

“Oh my God we just fought the Nazis again and won, WWII people, the only fucking war we Americans ever won ourselves. Do you not watch movies, movies are the truth people!”

Madame president suspiciously Alaskan.

“Can everybody who is not a head of their group please leave the room…”

" what are you people fucking morons, I ask you to do something and you don’t do it are you that fucking stupid…"

Madame President, suspiciously has a pregnant daughter.

“hey don’t go near those guys they are real Nazis!”

A black guy who was turned white by Einstein.

“hey their just boys?”

An Aryan woman who came to Earth.

Awesome.

My son and I watched it and had a great laugh.

The President: All presidents who start a war in their first term get re-elected.
I love that Udo Kier was cast. He looks so evil.

The world is sick but we are the doctors. The world is anaemic but we are the vitamins. The world is weary but we are the strength. We are here to make the world healthy once again with hard work, with honesty, with clarity, with decency. We are the product of loving mothers and brave fathers. We are the embodiment of love and bravery. We are the gift of both god and science. We are the answer to the question. We are the promise delivered to all mankind. For that we raise our hand to one nation. We step to the beat of one drum. We march to the beat of one heart and it is this song that we will sing to this world. We are the people who carry the children on our shoulders in the same way that our fathers carried us and their fathers carried them. We are the one people united and strong. We are the one people with certainty, moral certainty. We are invincible and we have no fear because the truth makes us wise.

Eine nation unter Gott.

It was so satirical and shameless. You came away at the end wondering who the bad guys were: the Nazis from the moon or the US government. It ticked all those boxes in a film, it was funny, engaging, clever and most importantly you would come away from it thinking about it for hours later.

One thing I was impressed with was that it was a low budget movie, or at least a moderate budget one, but it didn’t show, because the special effects were hardly Plan 9 From Outer Space, it just goes to show these days you don’t have to have a $100 million budget to make a good looking movie.

Udo kier could be cast as Superman and save humanity and people would still come out of the cinema thinking there was something wrong about that guy, he just has the face of a bad guy. He’s like Rasputin, it’s the eyes…

I got kinda lucky on irony. The film Tucker and Dale vs Evil the premise:

Two backward yokels go up to a cabin they bought they want to renovate as a fishing lodge, unbeknownst to them horrifically some college kids have also rented a cabin in the woods near them, mayhem ensues when the kids end up assuming the yokels are out to kill them horror movie style. I think you can work out the rest. Great film though, it sends up all the horror clichés and at the same time explains why sometimes, college kids going into the woods to smoke pot and drink beer, may not come out alive and not for the reasons you might imagine.

“Look officer I know this looks bad, but this dumb kid just came up and threw himself into the wood chipper, I had nothing to do with it!”

“you boys must think I was born yesterday.”

“Well we got a girl inside I knocked out who can confirm it.”

“You knocked out a girl?”

“by accident, some kid tried to attack me and I accidentally hit her with a shovel.”

“ok well let’s take a look.”

kids in the car shouting on mass!

“No officer just don’t go in there!”

lol. It just works on many levels, Cabin in the Woods and Deliverance, and Texas Chain Saw massacre eat your heart out.

watched iron sky last night on your recommendation, good leftfield movie. =D> what will come from mars i wonder…? raging zionists…?

Some of the send ups can be hilarious. Independence Day? My oldest boy and I went to the opening of this shitter in our area. We were almost thrown out of the theatre for making a “disturbance”. We were laughing so loud that people were getting up and moving away from us. I’d quote some of the lines, but it’s been too long. I do remember that it finally got so bad that I was rooting for the alien invaders. It is definitely a Mystery Science Theatre candidate. Great special effects, though.

Now that is a movie that must be made, just after the war the Zionists left Earth to flee the Nazis, man you can imagine the rest it almost writes itself. Although sadly you can make fun of Nazis, making fun of Zionism is a little more tricky, even if it is stupid and has nothing to do with the faith or Jews for that matter.

Well the whole film was one of those films that was entertaining enough to be good, and bad enough to let you leave with a knowing smile and say wtf was that shit. Overall though I would say I enjoyed it, even if it wasn’t as tongue in cheek as the two contributions I have made, it aught to have been.

The Zionists did in fact leave Europe for the the UK and the US. There plans for world domination came true.

Well that’s not really true, besides the Zionists don’t seem to have gained any world dominance unless you are talking about conspiracy theory, and then of course I will have to call you out. The Zionist movement took advantage of political movements to gain a country, Israel, that is true, as a movement it was not a religious one, but as most land grabs are a political one. The Arabs were crapped on and their treaties with countries that promised them lands, were reneged on which has of course lead to the mess that is Israel et al now. I hardly see how this is world domination, sure they have strong lobby groups, ownership of large resources, but they are hardly the most powerful lobby groups or agents or nations or people in the world as it is. Illuminati withstanding that post is erroneous.

That said, this would never of happened under moon Hitler.

Zionists pretty much control the world last time I looked.
90% of the world’s financiers are Jewish, including the head if the IMF. All the big money men controlling the US budget are Jewish, and let’s face it, Israel practically treats the US like it’s bitch guard dog.
What more is there?

World of media, entertainment, science, technology check check…

It’s the greatest laugh on Hitler.
200 years of oppression has meant that only the fittest Jews have survived. The brightest survivors, able to keep on the move, avoiding persecution, have made them the master race! Now they have a home on the US and the UK, and are doing pretty well.

Bit off topic, you can start a new thread if you like and I will be perfectly willing to discuss it, but as is I don’t think, and I think you’ll agree I can argue about it on a thread about Nazis from the moon.

Don’t think I am backing away from the argument at all. I am not a big supporter of either Zionism or Jewish lobbyists/bankers et al, I just don’t think this is the time or place.
