Thanks, it’s the complementation of Astarte fertility and Jesus’ resurrection.
Today I made the mistake of saying “Happy Easter” to an Arab friend. Oh well, we’ll both get over it.
Anyone else has no right to celebrate it as it is a Pagan holiday.
Most religious individuals don’t even have a clue what Easter really is or what it represents and anyone not Pagan who celebrates it in the “religious” manner is ignorant at best and a fool at worst.
So you are saying that religions had no right to take over the popular pagan holidays. I’m a Christian/pagan and no fool! The distinction is theological, not experiential! Easter is my New Years Day! The word pagan used to mean country dweller as opposed to the anal-retentive denizens of suffocating cities where theology trumps natural experience.
You can not claim both and be either in truth. To claim Christianity and Paganism not realizing that if you are Christian you can not be Pagan as the 2 are opposites in nature and do nothing but war with each other, at least, if you are truly one or the other, and follow either as they are meant to be followed. While Paganism is a… Collection of belief systems they all have several key systems that mesh together much like a Christian is a Christian no matter their denomination, so to is a Pagan a Pagan despite their sub-sect.
You can not mix and match and claim to be Either and truly be either.
You can however create your own belief which maintains principals from both, but then, this is still neither. You are either a Pagan, or not. Just as you are either a Christian or not. The rituals involved in true paganism are forbidden by Christianity, the practices in Paganism, are Forbidden by Christianity, Even the main Deity, the Goddess is the exact opposite of the Christian Deity “God”.
Mixing and matching, makes you… well whatever you are and this is your right and will, but do not claim to be Pagan nor Christian or both, because you are not. And so you know I spent time as a High Priest for a Pagan Coven, at one time. So me telling you, you can’t be both comes from experience and me knowing for a fact that you can’t Follow anything related to Christianity and still maintain the necessary requirements to claim and be Pagan.
WICCA is NOT Paganism. Wicca is only about 60 years old. Paganism Predates Christianity by over 3000 years and more (depending on which Sub-Sect your talking about). Wicca is an insult to Paganism. It was created by a man who traveled around and gathered up lore and myth and snippets of belief and truncated it all together with the theory of white magic oriented.
It is not even remotely related to Paganism and most of the stuff in it is stolen (or made up) and corrupted from true paganism, it is just as bad as Christianity in that area, and any true Pagan is insulted by the presence of some one who claims to be such and is actually an Ignorant Wiccan who knows jack about the reality of magick and it’s uses, or worship to the gods.
Paganism is not some fluffy white cloud of goodness, it is steeped in blood, and death, and sex related Magick all the carnal sins which Christianity forbids are sources of power for Pagans, and while peaceful people, real pagans wouldn’t hesitate to sacrifice you if you weren’t one of them so that their gods will appease their crops and village for another year, or to gain a boon or power or knowledge from one of them.
As far as the definition of Pagan goes, yes it means Country dweller. But that is not how it is used, and it hasn’t been used as such for over 1000 years or more. When you say Pagan in the Modern age, it means one who practices Magick, and worships the old Gods. In short, “Paganism” is the reference to the Religious aspect of those who practice the old ways as it were, and has nothing to do with “Country Dwellers”.
And yes I am saying that anyone not of a certain belief or interested in learning about such has no right to call themselves such or participate in the rituals involved in such, not only is it disrespectful to those who are part of that belief system, it’s just insulting to ones intelligence and those who are that belief.
Actually, I was not being inflexible I said you could create and be whatever you wanted, I simply pointed out the facts of both belief systems. Which were not designed or created by me. That is simply the way those specific belief systems work.
If you have a refutation that says Christianity is Ok with human sacrifices and encourages them, or encourages sex with multiple partners in order to produce an energy well which can be used to set up major spellworks and enchantments. By all means I am willing to debate such with you.
The same goes for Paganism which is pollytheistic, if you can provide evidence which support a pagan worshiping only 1 God who is unrelated to their polyismic tree… I am all ears.
Can you provide evidence which supports the ability to call yourself Christian And Pagan and have the 2 coincide?
