Yesterday while on the phone with my dearest and longtime friend(this is important) a female computerized voice came on telling us we had 3 minutes left. Now we both have unlimited longdistance and we were both on our landlines and both our bills are paid up. We went on thinking it was a faulty line , The voice came back and claimed we had 30 seconds left. Hmmm, Then a male computer voice came on and said your time is up we are sorry. Click. we were disconnected. I immediatly called her back,
Now here is where its wierd. The line rings once then on come funeral/elevator like music and I swear it is my friend’s voice, I know it is her voice, that says"Sorry you missed us please try again or leave a message". I would know her voice in my sleep. We are very close. I try 4 times and get the same thing, finally I get her. She is adamant and very serious it was not her voice, nor is it a post halloween prank. She does not have anything set up like what I described. Yes, I had her correct number on dial and redial. I fully believe her that she did not do it. She can’t keep a serious attitude, she loses it, when she is playing with me.
She does have the phone company catch messages that she missed. But she swears that the message she says is not that. its a smart ass one.
So what the hell happened? Any ideas?
Anyone ever have wierd things happen on your phone? I have had people on my line as in a partyline when you don’t have a partyline.
Sometimes when I make calls on my cell phone I get a piercing beep before it rings, making me wonder (almost certainly unnecessarily) whether I’m being listened in on.
Yea that has happened a couple of times picking up when it has not rang, makes you hesitate and a short bout of confusion hits.
Clicks and beeps on the line makes one nervous about being listened in on. LOL even though you have nothing to hide you get a feeling you should hide something.
We are in a blank area for cell phones. Alot of times we don’t get messages that were left until two days later sometimes three. That causes problems. Our cell is for business.
I thought about trying to explain a couple of known scenarios, but then realised that it would all just come out like a lot of over the top tech speak that probably wouldn’t make sense.
I’ll just say, it can happen. Most often a glitch, some times a pry.
Well, I’ve had someone break into my house by swinging on a phone-line and crashing through the window…if that counts, but other than that, nobody has ever broken in on my phone-line.
This happens frequently to me when I’m on my cell, I guess there are too many things floating around in the airwaves. Whenever I get near the edge of what I would consider to be my ‘signal range’ I start hearing snippets of other peoples conversations - but usually they can’t hear me when I talk back.
Yea i have had that happen it can be interesting, I have also had Truckers using their C.B.s come over the speakers on the TV where I used to work. That more often than not was painfully funny. The conversations would line up with the people on TV talking to each other.
