So now that the whole entire nation has just gone completely MAD!!! Here’s something to look into, and I know that there is no right or wrong answer to this one, so I’m just looking for ideas, and thoughts on this subject…
So the nation is going through this gas shortage, and prices are out the roof and everybody can’t cope with living under a currency economy. But since that is the way of living, and the only to keep a life is to have a good paying job, and keep up with the bills every month. It seems that gas should not be a major factor. But the prices are up, and the expences per week spent on gas is as much as paying for half your water and power bill. So I figure that sooner or later the government will step in and provide us with some unknown gasoline storage, that they had for a good while. And to back up that thought, I believe that the govenment is not the ignorent to let a country die over a material needed for everyday living… (But I could be wrong.) So lets say that the govenment doesn’t have, or finds more crude oil to make gasoline… Now does the country go into a state of great deppression??? Or slowly, just die, until it becomes a thrid world country??? And what I mean by another great deppression, is that gas prices go up even higher, due to the demand. And every working class citizen can’t pay for it, and has to quit their job, because the pay check can’t pay for the gas, andno gas means no transportation to and from work, thus the effect of getting fired.
So please give me some insite on this thought, and hopefully there will be a well round answer to what might happen to this nation.
You could, but that does pose a problem… And the problem being is that it would ruin the image that AMERICA has set for it self… And not only does it make america look bad, but it also could destroy it’s reputation. Meaning that if we did in fact steal oil from Iraq, other countries are going to look at us as an enemy. And thats not exactly the plan of america. The reason why that the other countries see america as the enemy, is beacuse of the religous value of Iraq, and since it is valued as a historic peice of land. This nation would be shunned for eturnity. Plus america does put God as the “all mighty” in this country and knowing that God has given this land safety, who knows what might hapen to it, (not in a biblical sense) But more in the sense of that people have that state of mind that God has blessed this country, and now that we have stolen oil from Iraq. Outrage is probably not the best word to use, but some where along the greater lines of that could and very well might happen.
(This is all in a hypithetical sense)
But yeah, it could work, but there are effects of cause…
This is true indeed… Its got a large Emergency Reserve that can keep the US up and going for about a Month or So, but with Europe now pitching in to keep the crude oil refineries going we should have more than a few months worth of crude oil to keep prices under 5$ a barell…
Gas price are not going to jump any higher. In fact prices are now starting to drop down. The country will never face another Great Depresion. The government is not dumb enough to let that happen again. And the government has released crude oil fom the federal reserve.

The oil supply is not infinite…
As the supply dwindles, the prices will increase.
Basic economics 101.
At current and projected oil use, world wide, some estimates come as close as 80 years until complete depletion. Sure, there is lots and lots more oil in the canadian north and alaska, but the cost of pulling it out of that frozen ground exceeds its value. Ut oh!
If alternate fuel technology isn’t found this generation or next, we are all fucked.
According to the New York Times, the United States has 28 days worth of reserve oil, that is, in case of a real emergency. . .
Don’t worry. It will be. Plus, regular feul technology is constantly imporving. At out current historical rate, we shouldn’t be looking at a real problem, at least, for our generation and our childrens. The grand kids. . . well. . . there on their own. Of course I’m only jesting. So I hope. . .
One, though America claims in its image that God is the almighty America is probably one of the countries furthest away from God. Did you know that it is illegal for a school to hang up a picture of Jesus Christ? It’s because we have to separate “church and state” and an educational facility is government funded.
Two, 7,000,000 gallons of crude oil have been released from the Federal Reserve, the problem is it has lowered the price of a barrel of crude oil, but left gasoline unaffected. The explanation for this is even though we have more oil thus making it cheaper we still have less refineries and until that oil is refined it can’t be used. So, gasoline prices will remain the same (fluctuating maybe 20-30¢) until the Gulf Coast starts producing again. Remeber, no matter how much oil we get, we will still produce gasoline at the same rate.
It’s true that economically it isn’t profitable right now, but if prices rise high enough it will become viable. We aren’t going to experience a sudden oil shortage; the price will rise gradually as we run out of the easy sources and switch to the harder ones.
Regardless of the economics, if you are burning more than a barrel of oil to extract a barrel of oil, you aren’t getting anywhere. With current technology, this is the case with extracting oil from the frozen tundra.
According to this, oil shales might be worth as much as 50% more than the energy required to mine them. That’s not as good as oil, but still a profit. And I’m not sure this is the energy source you’re talking about, but it’s an alternative that is both economically and energetically profitable.
Is it possible for an energy source to be economically profitable but not energetically profitable? Maybe if all the cars run out of gas and we still haven’t converted to electric…
