Question:
Can personification apply to animals?
Question:
Can personification apply to animals?
Yes, but I think it goes by a different word. I can’t really remember.
anthromorphism?
so u can use personification toward animals or no?
yes, but it’s called anthromorphism.
p.s we do not do homework.
not validly…

not validly what?
we wont validly do homework or you can’t validly call animal personification anthromophism?
Personification is anthropomorphism. They mean the same thing. Personification is from “person” meaning “human being” and “-ification”, meaning “to make like”. Anthropomorphism is from “anthropos” meaning “human being” and “morphe” meaning “form” but was used to mean “like”.
As for it being a fallacy, which Imp asserts, I don’t see why that would be the case given evolution.

How is it a fallacy to use anthromophism in fictional prose?

The problem with personifying animals is that they can exhibit human traits in reality.
“the sneaky fox” is not personification or anthromorphism. the fox actually is sneaky.
“the devilish fox” however IS an example of personification, but because it involves an animal, we call it anthromorphism (i think).
Being a devil or evil is not a trait that humans believe animals have the capacity for, it is something that we attribute only in humans, regardless of reality.
when we talk about talking monkeys, we aren’t anthromorphicizing them, we’re describing them.

Wonderer, it’s a book about a telepathic gorilla. It’s a great read, you should check it out.
youre confusing me-
I’ll ask it again-
CAN YOU PERSONIFY ANIMALS???
Possibly. It is, at best, a matter of degree.
Yes, you can personify an animal by saying it has a human quality that it wouldn’t otherwise already have, and instead of personification it’s called anthromorphism.
Cannot you read?
