Who’s wall is more humane?
I’ve stated my position several times already, and have been a major advocate of the wall for years, I support it on a humanitarian basis, it is crucially needed to undermine the drug cartels, reduce the drug supply in the US, and severely reduce the supply of undocumented workers… many work for slave labor prices for seedy liberals. This has to stop.
As far as I figure, you stop most of the illegal flow, most already here (2/3rds) likely would remain, other third or quarter deported for committing crimes. I don’t think we can realistically deport them all, but certainly would like to see the criminally minded ones go- no point crying racism or stereotyping, I grew up in Hispanic neighborhoods my first ten years in California, saw plenty of nasty crime, and later on when I moved back- I don’t think Hispanics are more prone to crime, but would really like it a whole lot if our immigration policy was far less accepting of illegals who commit addition illegal acts.
If a fully manned wall was slapped up, job demand would obviously increase within the US, but the old argument that many of these workers do a kind of work nobody else wants to do would still hold firm- for the increasingly legalized illegal population post wall, pay would have to increase, and businesses would lobby for ever larger legal immigration, be it full time or seasonal… people working fields on a seasonal basis, they get a higher than US national minimum wage, rights to banks, no need to hide, can live in the open. That doesn’t happen currently. A lot are abused, stuck in horrible conditions. If nobody wants to do the work, but there is a demand, I say let them in, but under our terms. Our teams legally, via work visas, are pretty sweet. I dont thonk we have any choice save to institute this as time goes by, sooner than later, within a year or two of the wall being completed, no realistic way of handling it otherwise.
What this means is a larger tax base for the government, mire government inspectors and immigration agents, and troops/border agents allocated along the wall- basically more government jobs, which dems like, and less economic enslavement, which the party of Lincoln likes. A win-win. Add to this less drugs, and less drug related crimes, and increased supply of jobs as the illegal trickle clamps down, it can only be a crowd pleaser, it sits morally and ethically correct, is a wise course of action.
What I oppose to Hillary’s plan, is she leaves 300 miles uncovered on the border- we should definitely cover it all, you know that route will be even more punishing and deadly. Her crackdown on sanctuary facilities, like churches, sound scary. I’m strongly opposed to sanctuary cities, like San Francisco, as they indiscriminately violate the law, harboring everyone, good or bad by default… my philosophy is, you do nothing bad, you stay, fuck up, your booted back. People fleeing into safe harbour like churches are probably close to refugee status. You can’t fit a whole city of illegals into a few churches. One of the side effects of having the wall is, we can better accommodate refugees willing to work… actually have damn jobs for them, instead of providing half pay jobs to whoever cared to walk north for whatever reason. I’m not at all adverse to the plight of those fleeing war. Many in Mexico are fleeing the chaos of the cartels, cartels that only exist because we DON’T take our border security seriously. Goal is to reduce the humanitarian impact of deadly, runaway liberalism, and provide both border security and access for Americans as well as LEGAL immigrants to US Jobs. We still want the best and brightest intellectuals and needed skilled workers, and business men moving their businesses here.
I also strongly support unifying the requirement that local and state police enforce federal laws, like they are legally required to do. The failure to do this has caused a good portion of the current humanitarian crisis. I am A-OK with scumbag sheriffs and police chiefs bring perp walked to jail, sentenced, and having the key thrown away. It is fucking sick what they are allowing, we didn’t excuse even the lowest of guards in Nazi DeathCamps off the hook, just because that was their ideology and they had local support for their actions- an expectation exists in regard to our authorities to refuse to participate in acts that lead to directly, or contributing to humanitarian catastrophes, these bad cops are squarely implicated. Society can’t have a place for law enforcement that undermine the principles of Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. By hiding a few cases openly, they encouraged thousands of bad apples to abuse the ad hoc system they not so cleverly devised, it threw open massive intelligence holes in national security, hampered Federal police- it is clear these departments need federal oversight in order to do the right thing.
I’m also firmly for a National ID, that you can also substitute your fingerprints for free- that never expires. Your always listed, just like you always have a social security card. This would do a lot to cut down on voter ID fraud, and you would only be able to vote once, no matter where. If your two poor, go to a DMV, up to the last minute, get registered, 5 minutes- your name, address, date of birth, social. Have touchpads at every voter registration for last minute people who forgot to ever get a ID, and want to vote- it really is that simple. Tell them what bush you sleep under if your a hobo, fine, whatever. 5 minutes, then back in the voter line. It isn’t a hard concept, but the left acts like it is absolutely impossible. It is fucking easy, they still get to vote, without undue hassle, without cost, no poll tax, no literacy test, the official will type it out for you if need be… if we get a massive backlog of new registrations, and it takes a month or two to process and check it, so be it, a database can do that. You will always have that biometric data on file, that IS their ID.
You can vote however you want, move wherever as long as your able to show your entitled to as a american. President isnt sworn in till months later, if your verified, your vote counts. If your a illegal alien tryimg to vote, then your a hanging chad- you gotta go through the citizenship process like our ancestors had to. We make everuone else do it, someone from Nicuagra shouldn’t get special exemption because a liberal thinks they already ARE human/person, and shoukd he dignified to absolute equality… No, citizen still must be eatned, buy showing you learned about america and our history, want to stay.
As to Donald Trumps emohasis on biometric data… Whatever. Honestly, that is just one touchscreen at TSA you gotta touch while going through line, taking a handprint- 20 second delay, inserted into the shoeless, beltless, empty your pockets routine. If at Greyhound or Train, scan… we do this for credit cards, we can do it for hands. My smartphone is shit but can read my fingerprint. Im not opposed to it, but doubtful it will keep most tourist overstaying their visas out, as long as they avoid such places. A weakpoint of Trump’ s system.
As far as manning the wall- two month long military deployments along the wall, two brigades, broken down by platoons, per stretch. Scouts woukd get awesome training in, doing constant surveillance, if you want a conceot what scout units in vehickes with advanced optics can do, read about the Matines in Desert Shield, guarding the Saudi Border prior to Saddam’s attempted invasion. A singke scout vehicle coukd cover 5 miles.
What will this cost? Outside of logistics, $100 bucks per soldier, who otherwise would be doing nothing back at barracks, for veing deployed. It is excellent sentry training, and you get convoy and scouting practice, especially when somebody jumos the fence. Alot of tricoms and water buffalos established every few mile or so, radio contact between squads and platoons. Do a shift rotation… have zeroing ranges in places you can to keep troops practiced firing. Fantastic training opprotunity. As time goes by, we can run water, sewage, and ekectricty out to segments, automate it a bit more over the years. It will give light infantry and mech infantry alot of needed real world practice. We already have plenty of night vision and vehicles for that. Every unit has mobike cooks- I see very little reason why that couldnt be done.
