Could it be the that not only is an apparent October Surprise coming out against Obama, but it appears to be initiated by Hillary’s camp. There are three lawsuits (so far) suing to have him produce qualifying proof of citizenship. At least one of the suits, in PA, is being brought by a high ranking Hillary supporter.
My question is, if there’s anything to this (I’d dismissed it until now), why the f**k didn’t McCain file suit months ago?
Because there isn’t anything to it, and crazy fanatics do as crazy fanatics does, as it were. Is it a surprise that there are some Hillary fanatics at the fringes doing crazy things? Of course not.
Granted, at least democratic fanatics do things like initiate trivial court proceedings as opposed to threatening assassination . . .
So that’s it? Factcheck authenticates it, matter settled? No need to present authentication of his citizenship qualifications to any elections board or other elections officials? I’m not saying he can’t, I’m asking, why doesn’t he?
Turns out FactCheck.org is owned by the Annenberg Foundation for which Obama was a board member for several years. This just makes it look worse–and it reeks already.
This is a video interview with Philip J. Berg, the lifelong Democrat Party leader from Pennsylvania who’s brought this suit against Obama in that state in federal court to produce proof of his citizenship:
They could block him from receiving votes in this and several/many other states. Why is he letting this drag on, for years now? How long does he think the mainstream media can cover his back? If this was a Republican… “Oh, it’s genuine. I submitted it to FoxNews.com for authentication.”
Don’t forget that John McCain’s citizenship has also been called into question. He was born in the Canal Zone. Obama as well as McCain are U.S. citizens.
PT, how can anyone prove their citizenship if nothing they provide is accepted as evidence? By the standards that Obama is being held to, no one could prove their citizenship. The fact of the matter is, he has a birth certificate from Hawaii, and the DOH in Hawaii confirms that he was born there. What more do you want? What is the burden of proof that you want him to meet?
As for why he’s “letting this drag on”, he isn’t: he’s produced a birth certificate, he’s done everything he could reasonably be expected to do to prove he’s a citizen. If everytime he meets the standard, the standard is raised, eventually his campaign can rightly ignore the demands of fringe bloggers who are concocting these theories, and there is no story for the mainstream media to report.
If there really was a question of citizenship, do you think that the RNC wouldn’t have been all over it like stink on shit? You’re either not thinking, or just desperate for a way to stop the train. I’ll assume the latter. Try to stop reading the nut cases, they make you look silly.
Right. The scheme is to prevent anyone from proving Obama was born outside the USA until he gets elected. Then, when they do find out, Biden will be POTUS! =D>
He’s provided nothing. There’s three lawsuits so far, all of which could be dismissed with a valid birth certificate.
Again, he hasn’t presented a birth certificate (except to FactCheck.org) and the DOH in Hawaii says it can’t give out information on his records due to privacy issues, and no one’s curious why he won’t release them. The issue is now before the Hawaii Supreme Court (curiously at the same time that Obama decided [3 days before] that he had to “rush” to the bedside of his dying grandmother in Hawaii–lawyers in tow).
I know I look like I need a tin foil hat on this, and after giving it some thought, I think it’s a waste of time anyway. Even if it was proven that he wasn’t a citizen, what would happen?
Nothing.
The mainstream media would continue to ignore it and his supporters would only complain that the Constitutional requirement for citizenship is just another facet of Republican racism (never mind that it’s a lifetime Clinton Democrat that’s leading this effort). “Make him President anyway.” We ignore most of the Constitution now, so why not that too? It’s just not that important. The imperative of momentum is all that’s required.
Was not McCain born at a military base? That makes him born in the USA. I kind of always thought that being born in the USA was a stupid qualification anyway. Like that makes a person love their country, right… born citizens never had to work to be citizens, they can’t apreciate it half as much as an immigrant or a direct descendent of an immigrant.
The point is we can’t just arbitrarily ignore the Constitution to adhere to a current momentum. Hmmm, ok we can and have, but every time we do, the Constitution is further undermined, and the rule of law takes another hit.
One thing that worries me even more is the apparent lack of integrity this would reveal in Obama, but more importantly, how little we’ve come to value integrity as a society.
