Historic philosophy vs personal philosophy

:-k I understand historic philosophy western and eastern. After studying both for many years I took all the answers that I understood and created my own understanding of it. It’s like social philosopy reunderstood individually. (The fruit never falls far from the tree) pljames. Reguardless of our trying to understand others and their philosphies we will always create our understanding from theirs. I am sure there’s true philosophy and the facade philosophy as there is in all disciplines.I feel it’s a shame non believers of true philosophy want to destroy the original meaning of philosophy (The love of wisdom).

But those of us who love philosophy will always strive to keep the true spirit of philosophy alive in some way to offset the false ones who want to destroy it. I am one of those who is proud to call myself a philosopher and will always follow it’s truth and wisdom of those who created it. pljames

I’ve always chosen bits and pieces of philosophy to bring together as my own–a little bitta thisa and a little bitta thata. This way, I’m not bound by the ‘rules’ of an individual thought. I believe I’m a lover of wisdom (or, at least, a lover of knowledge) and a seeker of truth. Knowledge is all around me and I try not to pick and choose which to believe in. As a result, my increasing knowledge has changed me and will, I hope, continue to do so. However, for it to do so, it has to fit in with what I believe is basically me. But even that changes as I make more and more discoveries about my ‘self’–the me that is my ‘self.’ That’s because I’m the only ‘me’ there is. How can I possibly be anyone else? How can I think or believe or adhere to any other unique thoughts?
