Steven Hawking
Not because of his intelegance or work in the field of science but because of his hard work and dedication despite the unfairness of his life, and that he makes a good role model for the disabled community.
No man is if you get close enough to him, there’s a new bio on einstein that shows you the more feral aspects of him.
We all are sick in some sense, it’s one of those things you learn if you are totally honest with yourself, if you could turn peoples minds inside out and see what they think and do in private, you’d be like “I knew it!”
What is this obsession of Americans with their presidents?
Lincoln?!
Give us a fuckin’ break.
I’ve never seen such self-centered, self-referential, self-flattering people in my life.

Schopenhauer

No man is perfect, even the “Vaunted” ones, I appreciate them because they knew how to build a fucking country, I don’t see philosophers getting their hands dirty, so they can go suck balls. You’re useless as a philosopher if you just sit and talk in a corner with your little group, real philosophers actually engage people and try to fucking do something.
This is why so much philosophy is fucking useless, because the philosophers were asocial hermits with no life
You can’t pretend to build a sound philosophy out of your own shortcomings, you build a sound philosophy by eliminating all the bad shit in yourself first, and then engaging others and learning from them and vice versa, build a philosophy on reason and experience, not on your little rant against the world because “the world” has treated you like shit.
The quality of the world is dependent upon each of us, if we suck, the world does, the truth is a reflection of us.
What is more ‘doing something’ that influencing minds for centuries?
What if you find no meaning in doing anything?
If winning a war to create a nation constitutes greatness, for you, then I can point to far, far, FAR greater men than some guy who freed the slaves and won the war over the South.
History is more than about your little fuckin’ self-centered 200 year only world.
and if by getting your “hand dirty” you mean slaughtering millions of Native Americans in the one of the biggest genocides ever not recorded by history then you have fare more greater Americans to thank for that.
Expand you damn horizons so that your fuckin’, nation doesn’t keep on producing Bushs and Reagans.
And Kennedy was git, now worshiped because he died young.
My point is the works they produced and wrote are just as valuable as any philosopher because they are based on real experience with real people, in real life, inside the real culture of the time and know it well.
Many other philosophers were just cranky because they had no power, karl marx was one of those, he had a disease and he hated working. He just wanted to think and do his stuff, but he didn’t have the balls to just go get a shack somewhere in the forest and do without modern civilziation, he had a choice but he was a pussy.
Really?!
And philosophers have no contact with ‘real people’?
Maybe you should begin reading thinkers other than the one your nationalistic, pseudo-intelelctual, boring, shallow nation has to produce.
you can start with the French Revolution, or is anything with the word French in it a dirty word in your great, great nation?
I can see that you are a product of that great, great nation. Nice job in showing what you are all about.
I think you ‘get things’.
If I keep on talking, like most of the superficial thinkers on this forum, you’ll expose the greatness of your Lincolnean nation on your own.
Please do not stop posting.
I want to see the product of this Jeffersonean greatness.
On the list, I saw at least two names who were not originators of the ideas that they are famous for.
Many of the original, brilliant ideas either get stolen, bought or appropriated in some other way by other people.
My hat goes off to anonymous John Doe and Jane Doe (that we will never know) who were the real originators of such brilliant ideas but who did not have the right status or the luck to write a name in history for themselves for it.
