A mother who is reluctant to let a male child develop freely, with a father who does not play a dominant role in the family dynamics, creates fertile ground to nurture weak and effeminate behavior in a male child. I think homosexuality is a learned behavior which is fostered mainly by the mother and her reluctance to let go. You see this in a family (not all) of two or three or more boys and the last attempt of “trying for a girl child” results in this male child being subject to the mother who acts out her desire for a girl, by transferring this onto her son. As a boy matures the relationship with the mother should shift from you’re my little boy to, now you are my adult man son. The father should be active in his relationship with his son, independent of the mother, encouraging the son to turn to the father, which will prevent the mother from being the “top dog”. What is forgotten to a large degree today is that it is natural for a woman to want to depend on her man and it is not natural for a man to depend on a woman.

Sexuality is genetic. Like the fact you have two arms is genetic. Finding members of the opposite sex attractive is genetic. Because that is just as important for species survival as having two arms is. More so, in fact. Which means it was actively SELECTED FOR and became the absolute norm and standard, correlated with health and fitness of the organism, for a reason.

Sexuality like most aspects of the human body and mind is controlled by the interactions of tons of genes and gene-group combinations all working together in concert, for the individual but also within the broader context of the larger ‘social genome’ epistatic genetic relationships between the genes within you and the presence and frequencies of certain genes and gene-group combinations within others around you. That is why the society itself does have an influence, as we are seeing today a huge increase in the number of gay and “trans” people compared to the even recent past. Yet the mechanisms of these influences still fall back into the genetic realm, as exampled by the fact that being gay/trans also means being far more likely to be politically liberal and how being politically liberal is already strongly correlated across multiple vectors with having a higher number of harmful gene mutations.

There is a way we function when all systems are normal, including external systems of cooperation within which our genetic programming is designed to function.
There is also a way we malfunction when some systems, internal or external, are not operating normally.
Trauma is not normal. BUT we have systems to deal with some trauma with inflammation. Those systems don’t know if inflammation is the best thing in certain cases of trauma (and also don’t have a whole lot of other options), so inflammation may not necessarily be the best thing.
Certain environmental situations are not normal and also not accounted for in our programming. We are capable of thinking up scenarios that our programming could not have anticipated, or at least wasn’t designed to. we tax our systems and push them to their limits without fully knowing our own programming. Life is trial and error.
Imagine if instead of taxing our system, we learned more about it (like a crash-landed alien spaceship), and unlocked its potential rather than pushing it to limits which violate self=other (read in the light of my previous replies).

Valuing, as the ground of being, manifests randomly, and heterosexuality is obviously more functional and it is what is being procreated. Homosexuality however is the valuing of ones own kind. In Greek society it was obviously very common, likely because the man was highly idealized, our cultural ideal of Man having originated there…Alexander the Great was erotically interested in men. The Romans seemed to have looked down on the Greeks for such reasons yet Caesar himself seems to have had an affair with a man in his early life. Aside from the biological factors presented, I think it is a matter of finding men more interesting than women. That may also be a factor in the younger brother thing.
If FJs case was purely biological then the same fact would apply to a boy with a lot of older sisters.

If you read the wikipedia article I linked, it talks about “antibodies neutraliz[ing] male Y-proteins” - it’s specifically an immune reaction to males, not to females, so older sisters wouldn’t play into it.
