Could be a number of reasons for this.
Even though it is beyond anew’s Ken, puns intended, his particular patterns of communication have everything to do with what he experiences other people doing and not doing. It is simply beyond his Ken, puns intended, to consider that his toxic behavior affects how people respond to him, especially over time. He fallaciously generalizes, seemingly blissfully unaware that he is the common factor.
It is convenient that he judges other people as if he couldn’t possibly be the source of the problem.
