ps. if this is the case, when will it be working
Hmm… if it’s a java thing then I would advise updating your java driver.
What browser do you use?
Btw if you say Internet Explorer I will cry tears.
fixed it, just messed about with my internet settings a bit

k… wanna hear a funny story?
My dad had to download an attachment on an email he receieved on a hotmail account. That’s MSN, Microsoft’s dealio, hotmail. He tried with internet explorer, and it repeatedly failed. It worked fine with Firefox.
Hey pxc - that’s a nifty penguin, is it that easy to get someone’s IP address…?
Tab,
You yourself had that pic in your sig for a while if I’m not mistaken…
Basically you give every website you browse your (external) IP address, which belongs to your ISP. While from that you can’t hack someone, you can:
Determine what country and province/state, maybe even city that person lives in.
Determine who their ISP is.
How this one works (I assume) is it hosts an image file, which you have to download. To download it, you send up a request to danasoft.com saying “Hey, I’m xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx (or whatever your IP is). I need this picture.” Danasoft writes down your IP address, makes some calculations, and says “Ok… here it is!” and the picture changes to display your IP, etc.
Your internal IP is what you really wanna keep secret. Most people who have a router are good. If you plug your computer straight into the cable box, it’s very insecure and people can randomly talk to your computer over the internet.
Cheers pxc, will buy a router thingy. You’re a genius.
SIATD - Nope - I’m a penguin-free zone.
A router would be a good idea. It also lets you hook up multiple computers to the same intenet connection, through your router. A router is essentially a hardware firewall, although it doesn’t have quite the same meaning as a firewall used for coprorations. You probably have some sort of a software firewall, but a router would be nice to have.
SIATD: I gave my penguin one of your quotes… see if you can spot it.
It’s the same one used by another poster, when I said to PoR
‘It’s a comical truism, you prat’
Aye. I thought it was a good one. And the “other poster” is Mastriani, right?
