I mean seriously, if I were a member of a gym, and I found out the trainers were child molesters, I’d be outta there in an instant never to return.
Or if I worked at some job and found out my boss was a child molester I’d probably quit.
So why are people still Catholic? Are they lying to themselves about the extent of the indecency? Or do they really have no problem in associating themselves with a bunch of reputed child rapists?
Well, because a few rotten apples in the barrel does not mean the whole barrel of apples are rotten. Not all priests are molesters, not all nuns are sluts, not all Catholics are subservient to the pope. A priest is a personal guide and friend as are nuns, You would not shun all of your friends because one friend raped someone would you?
You condemn the group not the individual. The group did not molest hundreds of kids only indviduals did that, and then I would probably be right in guessing that more than a few claim there was rape when there was none in order to get money from the disgustingly wealthy church. The one thing the catholic church is guilty of as a group is the sheltering of the priests. That is the only thing I condemn, but, then its only the higher ups that did that, not really the lower members.
I just think it’s crazy that if a bunch of people in Texas want to have consentual polygamy, that they all get dragged off in disgrace, but if the pope lets his people rape kids for decades and decades that it’s just not that big of a deal.
But it is a big deal, Smears. The Catholic Church has paid and paid for this. The believers in that Texas cult don’t want to quit - neither do many Catholics. Seems the two examples are pretty close to each other.
