Im trying to study math for a test but I dont know how to study. How do you study? What do I do?
I don’t study really…
I’m just that good.
PhilosophyGirl,
Math study is all about practice. You need to learn the techniques taught to you, and then you need to apply them often in the form of tutorial questions, questions from the textbook etc. I’ve found that teachers/lecturers usually ask questions in the exam that are quite similar to questions they have already set in tutorials, exercises etc., so my advice would be to concentrate on them.
What level maths are we talking here?
Alright yeah… I’ll try and actually help too.
First off, from my experience I’ve found that often times teachers will give the test on pretty much the examples you would have been given to study… only about half the test will be with an extra variable somewhere.
So get proficient with doing the examples, proficient enough that if the difficulty is upped a little bit, you can still handle it.
It’s all about actually getting it. If you’re just carrying the 1 (so to speak) because you’ve been told to, and not because you know why it should be moved… then you should go back to the drawing board.
Once you get your head around it… its alot easier.
This is obviously easier said than done.
Meh, I never study. The best kind of studying is last minute studying in my opinion. But its different for different people, im lucky enough to be able to pass exams without much studying.
But helpful tips:
Get your parents or a friend to ask you questions that you have to answer, if you do this a lot all through the day then it will get it in your head.
Do lots of examples (if you wanna waste your time).
Thats all I got, like I said I dont study so I dont have much tips.
Drink plenty of water, listen to non-intrusive classical music, exercise briefly every 20-30 minutes and try to remain optimistic.
But no, I don’t really study. I just learn things the first time round and remember them, it means that I get to spend all my allocated revision time drinking and swearing…
Mine is spent pointlessly argueing stubborn old Danish men .
Ive always found it strange that people suggest excersise makes you feel good. It probably does what with all the science to prove it (endorphines released) but I cant say ive ever felt anything but depression during excersise.
It has nothing to do with making yourself feel good, it’s just about maintaining the flow of blood to the brain. If you sit relatively still, at a desk, reading books and trying to remember what they say where do you think that the blood tends to end up?
In my penis, and hence the many hours of downloading. Not to go into too much detail.
unfortunatly for you, you can only know studying when you enjoy what you are studying.i still remember how much my home schooling sucked.
i was literally bored to tears each time, then i’d trail off and start pissing around.i had NO incentive, exept maybe the kind of incentive they have at nazi concentration camps. maybe they made them do the same corriculum there?
also Xanderman says very usefull informative things sometimes like:
“girls find english easyer and math harder in school, were boys are the opposite…” if i remember properly.
does the brain automatically reject stuff it finds annoying or useless??
i dont think it’s possible to make school fun…
The most efficient way to score high in maths exams, is none other than getting previous exam questions and practise on them, and them only. I don’t do maths until two weeks before exams, but I always score fine. I already told you my secret. The following is what applies to study in general, “to study and not think is a waist, to think and not study is dangerous”.
When I study I imagine someone is at the door, watching…
