what if we went to africa, looked for a guy who was real good at leading neighborhood construction, had a high IQ and who really cared about making the world a better place. he lived in africa, he donated all of his effort to helping others and healing the world in as many ways as possible. what if he was president? i mean look at the numerous numerous things that bush does around the globe every single day to encourage peace. wait i cant they are never in the news. he never does a god damn thing except go to a podium and vomit rhetoric. i have never seen such content-free speeches. for gods sake, shouldnt he be doing something? isnt he the most important person in the whole world? whatever, maybe he does and the media doesnt care.
what matters is that the political campaign process is fundamentally flawed. it assumes that extremely rich people are going to altruistically do a job that can make them some serious cash. in order to become president, you must be god damn rich. in order to be god damn rich and willing to blow it all on a year of campaigning instead of charity work, you must not be a perfect person. shouldnt we be trying to find the ultimate number 1 perfect person? is that not a goal worth changing the system for?
is it impossible to have a better selection process? why is it so hard to change things in this country? when was the last time a thing changed and everybody panicked because it was horrible and the old way was best? i mean what is the motivation for orthodoxy? i would be orthodox if there were crazy insane kids running around ruining everything with their stupid new ideas, but ive never seen it happen.
i think orthodoxy is no more than an experientially learned mistrust of younguns. its not based on real experience of bad changes, its based on watching your kid be stupid his whole young life and then hearing that that kid is in charge of something you care about and he wants to change it according to his assumedly stupid ideas.
when was the last time something changed and it was horrible? were the people in charge of the change really trying to make things better for all? are there any problems with the presidential candidate selection process ive proposed? does everybody think letting the rich rule the country is the only choice we have?
