I average about 6-7… It is a lot of time sitting on my ass, are most Ilpers the same? If I had to guess I would probably say yes. We do make some sacrifices in our quest for knowledge don’t we?
8-11 I would say.
But I mean… I usually only pick up an actual book for about 45 minutes of that time. (Summer)
It depends, like the last few weeks for class I was reading about 15-20 hours. But, usually I’d say about 7 or so a week give or take.
not much at all. I have a really short attention span. it takes me at least two months to get through a given book. I read maybe 2 hours of class work text and maybe another hour give or take of my own book.
I usually read while doing someting else like walking, riding in a car, watching tv, eating, or whatever else. that way my attention is comfortably diluted.
I’m also a big fan of skimming. I rarely read text books or other school work very thoroughly.
however, this rarely works well when reading a heavier piece of material. such as anything that C.S. Lewis ever wrote.
yes, screwtape is hard to skim

As a literature student I have to spend at least an hour a day to get through that, though I enjoy most of it so it isn’t a problem. I spend an hour or more reading threads and post on ILP most days, as I imagine most regular posters here do. I devote at least half an hour to reading the news every day, but only read newspapers if someone else bought them. I obviously read stuff for Symposia, but that’s only a couple of hours a week, most weeks. I read bits of things that I’ve already read, and stuff that I’ve written, on most days. Usually no more than an hour on that.
However, last night I did, for the first time in nearly a year, play on Championship Manager at a friend’s house. I turned around his 3 game losing streak and masterminded consecutive 3-0 victories over Wigan (home) and Chelsea (away) in the league, then won 2-0 in the Bernabeu and 2-1 at home in the Champions League. It’s very addictive, and with my golden touch a dangerous way to spend your time. Entire adolescences in this country have been given up to playing Championship Manager. Not mine, fortunately. I was one of the lucky ones.
id say 2-4 hours a day during the summer.
45 min during the school year.
none during a show
My adolescences was eaten by my games con-soul!
I have many a friend who could claim this…the eventually leave their room at 20 years old and realise they have forgot to ‘become’ anything…forget to get invovled with life in any direct and active way. It is intensely sad. Thank God I was a tree climber.
I read for between 2 or 3 hours a day…roughly. I should get into the habit of reading more. It comes and goes but I’m always reading something.
I’ve given up reading.
I usually try to read for an hour or two after I get home from work (My shift ends at midnight).
It depends how many people continue to post.
If there are no new posts, then no readings shall be done.
I just noticed that the thread said a day, not a week. probably about 2-5.
12+ and not all of it is done while sitting on my ass
the amount of time I have avalible keeps changing so I’m having a hard time finding a single number for dalily reading.
i luck out, i spend all of my job reading, i have to, couldn’t pull a comic if i couldn’t read
it also involves a lot of walking
tru dat
This is a test. I will delete it as soon as possible
If reading on the 'net counts I’d have to say a lot of hours. If you mean holding an actual book in my hand, I’d say usually an hour or two per day. It’s been my habit for many years to read for awhile before I go to bed each nite.
My schedule this summer has been so wacky my reading times vary greatly.
