How many languages do you people know?

Je n’ais comprend pas? Quest’que vous dire?

Where do you come from? (My French is bad)

My ancestry is St. Lucian/the Caribbean: with some Indian and French blood added to my Carib blood, for good measure! but I was born in London where I still reside… The island speaks French due to the french having occupied it during the time of Napolean: where rumours spread that the Caribs were cannibals! :evilfun:

No English in you whatsoever?

No, no English blood in me - I just happen to live there.

Is that cajun grammer?

I would undersntand “Je n’ai pas compris” or “Je ne comprend pas”, but “Je n’ais comprend pas” is odd although it might be normal in your dialect.

Puis, “Quest’que vous dire?” ???

“Qu’est-ce que vous voulez dire?” What do you want to say?
“Qu’est-ce que vous en ditez?” What do you say about it?

No it ain’t  My speaking of French is waaaaaaay better than my spelling of it…

That’s how we spelled it at School in London, if my memory serves me correctly!

…like I said to October: he can’t go wrong with a good French phrase-book to help him learn the language (complete with correct spelling)

Eh ben. Si tu dis.

I’m like you with German, it was my minor in college. I also know some Latin, and I read a little Greek. I have been studying Spanish lately, a practical concern because I work in the health field. I know menu French and Italian.

ever try escargots?

Two. English and Turkish. Both fluent.

No, too expensive for me. My menu language knowledge comes from 14 years of waiting tables, and one brief trip to Europe. I have had Cuisses de Grenouille, however, and it doesn’t get any more French than frog legs!

Huh?
