The real cycle that ought to be broken is vulgar cynicism.

That answers to the op.
Define vulgar as opposed to say refined cynicism.

Cynic comes from Kunos, dog.
Yet N says of great things that one can only speak of them with cynicism and innocence.

I’m not one for cynicism at all, really; I’m an optimist.

What would you recommend, Jacob? What are some practical ways one could bring peace to his surroundings?
