I daily see how drug crime related deaths fills the news in Denmark, how the world pumps trillions over the decades into 3rd world countries that only ends in the wrong pockets.
I see how we contribute food and cloth to 3rd world countries, only to undermine and destroy their own industries.
I see how “help” organisations has been money mills on 3rd world countries, doing nothing but milk western countries for money, claiming drought destroyed the crops, when white farmers in the very same area only miles away, never had ANY problems.
I see how wars has continued for decades, hate presist.
…etc …etc!
It all sickens me so, we need better international policing, we need reforms!
We need to change our understanding of what it takes to make the world better, instead of blindly repeating idiotic behaviour, we need to learn from our mistakes because what we do now, doesn’t work.
YES! We need to force people to stop being greedy Lets kill anyone who tries to get more than they should!
I hereby volunteer to be the judge who decides the proper amount.
I think everyone should get a penny a day and I should get the rest.
While i totally agree with you, their is no way to change things unless we reconstruct every society in the world and the only way to do that is to put a single party in charge of everything like in 1984. However, this party will most likely end up in the hands of greedy people themselves (just like in the book) and nothing would change except who is rich and who has nothing.
Unless we can find a trustworthy, perfect, incorruptible group or person to take complete totalitarian control of the entire world, nothing will change.
And even if something changes, eventually, one of the successors to the perfect person/group will become a dictator or will lose power and the world will return to how it is now or worse.
Sorry to say it, but the world can’t be changed.
The world is changing but not in a positive or negative way.
It all equals out. The middle east has more freedom but Europe is starting to cut back in some countries.
As one area gets richer, another gets poorer. Things are changing but its like going from “0” to “zero”
Sure the statistics change and things happen but it really doesn’t make a difference.
Sure they are, but for all the good people using Twitter and Facebook to topple oppressive regimes, others spend all their time looking at porn and laughing at cats that look like Hitler.
There’s this place called /b/; I’m sure you’ve heard about it. I go there regularly and it shows how the internet doesn’t really change anything in the best possible way.
In one thread, people are tracking down people who abuse animals and sending their info to the authorities, and in another, they’re masturbating to child pornography.
The internet simply takes everything and puts it in a digital format, both the good and the bad.
I have absolutely no clue what you are trying to say. Care to try again?
Khrone, folks are folks world wide the good the bad the ugly. Nature and nurture. North Korea for example the North Korean border guards face inward not out ward . They have to people would leave North Korea, People are not running to get into North Korea are they?Regimes are trying to limit access to the net, why? Porn? no. Crappy values? No… Its sites like this and others where freedom rings that they are trying to keep out. Porn and the rest of the crap is just convienient excuses. The average human no matter where they are , are just not that interested in cats and porn especially if they live under the thumb of strict rule. They want freedom, they want to know what others have. Look at what is happening in the middle east. The rebellions were started online. Impressive as hell. The youth over there found out what they have been denied. Now the regimes are trying to shut down the net and control youthful hungry minds. My friend the net is a powerful tool for the average person. Its being used for good bad, beauty and ugly. Gotta take the good and the bad. Cripes i have to add this or it will stick in my head: And there you have the fact of life, the facts of life… Irritating little sitcom song… but it sticks.
Kriswest, you are right that internet usage is limited to prevent freedoms and control the populace and yes that populace wants freedoms that they should rightly have.
But, their are entire societies of people in civilized, free nations with no jobs and lame lives that spend all their time watching porn, pirating things and laughing about stupid internet humor.
As the internet enlightens some it degrades and de-humanizes others.
And the rebellions that happened were not as good as they could have been considering the tools the internet provides.
Those are the average people. Serial killers, terrorists and all types of people conventionally considered evil and horrible use the internet far more effectively than the average person.
Point is, the internet is not changing anything for the better, just to something different.
Short of playing with genes we will always have those humans that are as you say, but they are not plentiful compared to the rest of the population. Its like having a pimple on an otherwise clear face. you don’t see the rest of the face in the mirror you only see that horrific pimple. Its not a large one it just looks large and feels large. We tend to look at the bad and not see the good. Good is seen always, its familiar, its right. so it becomes norm. The abnorm stands out like a pimple.
Yes, but that pimple will always be there in one form or another.
The bad will always exist and that is the point i have been trying to make.
You may remove one pimple but another will always take its place in human society.
So??? Look at the rest of the face. Concentrating on the pimple denies the rest of the face. That is my point. Our media has us all concentrating on the pimple, they rarely show the rest of the clear face. We now expect and demand and lookforward to seeing the pimple ignoring the rest. You are following their lead by seeing only that one small object. Look at the rest marvel at it. Because what I see is pretty darn awesome.
The initial topic is about changing society for the better.
It is about removing the pimple and ensuring another one never returns.
My argument is that there will always be a pimple and a complete, positive change of “Humanity, Morals and Ethics” is impossible because when one pimple is removed another will surely appear.
This is not about whether society is mostly good or mostly bad, it is about the fact that you will never completely eradicate the bad.
The only way to make something better is to remove defects.
In society the only defects are corrupt, greedy or otherwise bad people/organizations.
These things will always exist unless they are hunted in the most ruthless way possible.
This would require setting high standards which would only keep getting higher as less bad people are around.
So it would eventually come down to if you aren’t perfect you are bad as things continue to spiral.
And that only works in the best case scenario.
Since we are humans it is far more likely that those removing the bad will become that bad because of the gain in power and the potential to get more of it.
So in the end, we only get to where we started from.
