Humans are ANIMALS.

I agree. We are all animals.

( I’ll fight to the nail and bone with you on this one as support.)

We’re all animals and humans are certainly cousins to all other species, however, I still think humans are special and unique in considerable ways. (so are other animals, though)

Humanity doesn’t exist. Humanity is a ideal.

Humans don’t exist as only individuals do.

The uniqueness you speak of are idealistic alterations and creations.

Take them away and you have only but a naked ape in front of you.

Humanity as in the net sum of humans, humanity as in, the number of humans that globally exist.

And when you have more than one human you can use a plural to talk about two individuals.

I said humans were unique and special and they are, we have complex self-awareness and social adaptations, even a hunter/gatherer is special in the animal kingdom because they’re super-intelligent in comparison to other animals.

Now this could be compared to the unique/special adaptation of some under-water fish or an eagle’s eye.

A hairless naked ape, just another branch of higher-ape. Doesn’t mean that we don’t have ‘special’ or ‘unique’ adaptations. No other species can understand the process by which it was created by a self-replicating molecule that happens to be the ancestor of all life on earth.

Seriously, thats a special adaptation.

Idealizations. ( Populance is a idealization of the economy.)

Semantics of language.

What does special mean?

Uniqueness isn’t unique to people. A tiger is unique too.

This just goes into semantics again.

Semantics again.

So what? From where does it derive its importance?

If you say so.

humans are truly nothing but advanced animals. we are nothing but overly social creatures (not rational) that need acceptance from the particular “pack” they are with. look at high school students, they strive for acceptance by listening to talentless rap stars on mtv and wear impractical designer jeans. what abject and foul creatures. this sounds like nothing but christian hell. do you honestly think a god would create such self-destructive “advanced” creatures?

I am not an animal.

Its a fact of numbers genius and a word given to express those numbers.

No, its a concept expressed by language which factually exists, which is why theres no reason to wax philosophical about whether or not ‘population’ is real because its a mere concept meant to express human numbers.

Special as in not seen to such dizzying extents anywhere else in the animal kingdom.

Yes they are, but humans are more unique than that because i’m referring to mental adaptations that allow us to understand how we evolved, the types of meta-awareness. A tiger’s adaptations has parrelels in the animal kingdom, theres many qualities that humans have that can’t be shown to also exist in animals.

By definition i can call it special and unique whether or not other animals have unique or special qualities, but once again I personally think that the human adaptations of super-intelligence are a lot more attention-arresting.

It displays amazing amounts of computational complexity/computing power, it displays a large amount of meta-awareness and critical thinking capabilities, it requires the ability to abstractly think about concepts that humans can’t inherently understand well (the amount of geological time envolved i n evolution) other animals don’t show these kinds of adaptations.

Tigers have claws, lions have claws, many adaptations, even unique ones, have parrelels, humans don’t.

The type of human intelligence has only arisen once in the history of evolution on this planet, because of that we can say its unique. (though other adaptations are as well)

Numbers are abstract constructions in formulating mass.

Numbers are constructs.

Do numbers exist anywhere without a observer?( Yes Or No?)

( Epistemology is great)

Language is reduced to idealized generalizations.

I never trust language but instead only use it because it is the only thing that exists for these little abstract conversations and of course because I have to rely on it. ( Unfortunately.)

You still haven’t explained anything.

Why is a mental capacity of a so called " human being " more unique than a chimp’s mental capacity?

I’ll await your answer.

Who’s attention?

So what?

And all these unqiue forms and specialities mean what exactly in the general indifferent cosmos?

Of course numbers exist without an observer because numbers are a human conception that exist outside of a necessary observer by definition of the word. Would the concept/definition exist without humans? No.

Two planets would still be two planets, there would just be no one to think about it.

What do you mean?

Language is just a tool to express a huge variety of potential concepts/ideas, a world without language would be frustrating, forever trapped to your own thoughts.

Rare and the complexity of the computation envolved is staggering, so rare on that account too.

because other animals also show some sign of intelligence/self-awareness to chimps, though chimps probably are more unique than other animals as they do show signs that other animals don’t. Humans have mental adaptations that are more unique as in complex and not seen elsewhere, and have more adaptations not seen elsewhere.

An objective observer viewing from space (an intelligent one) would not be interested by the rarity of the evolution of such high general intelligence?

What does that mean?

Why wouldn’t it exist without so called humans?

Why not call 1+1=5?

A consequence of language’s existence is generalization.

A world without language there would be no idealistic or conceptual existence of thoughts…

There would only exist physical stimuli telling me when I am feeling tired, feeling sexual, feeling hungry, feeling angry, feeling hurt and so fourth.

I am not gay. And even if I was, I doubt you could excite me.

It depends I guess on whether you think Nixon was a crook.
