I Am lebbor

In the 90s I had the screen name lebbor. I was on AOL. My favorite chatroom was philosophy. I don’t remember much except that people would say things like Pantera rox for no apparent reason.

It took me an unforgivingly long time to figure out what lol meant. I pictured chatters lolling their tongues out for some reason when funny things were said, and oddly, in my mind this made sense.

But there were rooms designated for different interests. I met a girl. Kira, named after the protag from Rand’s Anthem I believe.

She was groovy. Whip smart like Juno, only in her teens. Philosophical or goofy, she could do both and it seemed that doing both was an important statement. A way.

Writing can be a fingerprint of the soul. This is true on a forum or in a book. Hers was formidible and undeniably recognizable and felt like kin in the wiring. wonder what she’s up to these days…some 16 years later.

…She’s doin fine but she doesn’t remember you.

…Could you tell her more about yourself?

lol (not as in laugh out loud)

hopefully she’ll show up.
