Why? Because The Age of Reason has begun.

Obama is simply an “image” of confidence built on eloquent reason. It gives his image more power than any other.

What’s wrong with McCain? His image is “old” and his ideology is “outdated”. He may very well be “right” or “correct” in his views towards America continuing to occupy the Middle East, but that doesn’t mean his willpower will win.

The world no longer revolves around what America wants–“globalization” implies the Feminization of Man across the entire face of the planet. The trend has been already set in motion long ago…

I also asked Murdoch about reports that he said he would buy the New York Times if he had the opportunity, just to shut it down. He said he was kidding, but likely Times staffers in the audience shuddered.

This gave me a laugh too.

Jeebuz Farking Krist could’ve come back from the grave to the sound of trumpets, but he couldn’t have won the Presidency if he’d have run as a Republican. I don’t want to take away from the magnitude of Obama’s victory but I don’t think the GOP could have fielded a candidate that had a ghost of a chance after 8 years of Bush’s incompetence. And by than I don’t just mean “incompetence” by my subjective feelings, but rather the collective opinion of the United States (lowest approval ratings since it occured to us to poll people).

I think the Repubs set themselves up to take credit for Obama’s plan. They initiated the withdrawal, after calling Obama’s strategy ‘surrender’ for so long. The timeline they ended up with is pretty much what Obama had in mind, but by starting something they knew would happen anyway, they maintain plausible deniability.

That’s the cynical version. They probably just recognized that it was time.

Not his plan alone. If you go back a few years before the second Iraq war you will see Cheney talking about how we must get into Pakistan and Afghanistan fater Iraq. For oil pipelines. Obama immediately upon winning the election lined up right on the Cheney line. One government. One plan. Two wings of a single party. Good cop for a while, then bad cop. Each half of the nation, of course, labels the presidents differently. Bush was bad cop to some, good cop to the others. But they are both on the same team, following the same plan.

If you think liberals are the problem you are just as fooled as the liberals who think ‘liberal’ Presidents are the solution.
