i dream of electric mice

in deep sleep
we can mimic
the electrifying path
the zap of static synapes
put us deeper into sleep
fortify our blitzed memory
of love and friendship
of warmth and light
and of security
all the things that make us smile
zings my consciousness
back to that forest
where i was shocked to find
an insane memory of lightning
and yellow mice
that shocked my fingertips
ruined my thumb
handicapped my vision
surrendered my brain to such a buzz
that in deep sleep
i can mimic
the electrifying path
thriving with yellow mice

… gotta catch 'em all.

thank you.

I like the techno atmosphere of this one. It reminds me of the imagary from some of the Stainless Steel Rat books, eg:

Didn’t Phillip K. Dick right a story called “Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep” that was adapted into the early '80’r noir-sf film Blade Runner?

correct.

this poem is mainly about a thing called pikachu and how it ruined my fingers and made me have glasses via the gameboy system.

sorry about the misspelling – don’t usually nake such a mistake with the right/write homophone nor does it usually get by the internal censors before being posted but I guess I chose not to proofred and paid the price for that

Ah, pokemon

thanks for all your comments on my other poetry, LWH. they are much appreciated

I just noticed that I misspelled the word proofread – dropped the “a” in read. I’m really batting 1000, ain’t I?
