I Dreamed of Roberto Last Night
i dreamed of roberto last night
who was still alive
on an
island
which he couldn’t leave
(i don’t know why)
and they said
i could see him
but might not know him
since he’s thirty-five years
older
than when he last
patrolled
[size=59]…[/size]right field
but when i shook his hand
as he towered
over me (of course)
i recognized the
positive
energy
and passion
and (childlike) hope
in his confident eyes
and i wondered
at what’s been
lost
and why it’s
stuck all alone
on an
island.
