Can you give me historical examples of high strung, centralized hierarchical states based on high ideals of legalism and universal conformity gently drifted “back” into a laissez faire mode of economic and cultural independence?
I can only point to a few, and that is from long lasting dynasties, starting off a single, long lived monarch who comes around to realize all the huff and puff insecurities of his youthful statecraft can be considerably relaxed. It has a substantial impact on the evolution of classical statecraft of Antigonus II Gonatas and Stoic philosophy, but I really can’t say it has been a mainstay calculation in general theories of Balance of Power between states… Hitler’s generals seemed even more opinionated and distrustful of one another than Alexander’s. Hell, Rommell apparently didn’t even grasp what the hell Hitler was trying to accomplish and Hitler flipped on him a few times when it became obvious he wasn’t quite on board with Nazism.
What backups does a fascist state have to insure uniformity of culture through synchronized individual behavior and territorial unity? Not much… during the Greek Dictatorship of Dimitrios Ioannidis he couldn’t control the top ranks save through the the bottom and middle ranks, and had to use a secondary paramilitary power to enforce that even on them…
Fascist leaning states (behaviorally with ideological parallels, I don’t mean ideological descent) only keep Praetorians like guard units that couple their normal duties together with that of a secret police for so long… it us a nasty juggling act, Senates, Congresses and Parliaments get regularly thinned out via homicidal measures whenever this happens… and if you have a political refuge… these men historically take it. It causes a lot of civil strife, if not outright civil war and foreign invasions.
Hitler’s stare was hardly immune, was showing these stresses very early on if anything.
And yes… artisan creativity and basic property protections do lead to baby making, as they create commonly desired objects… must have objects, that is a must for every family unit. Hitler and the Soviets would arbitrarily select products to emphasize… in Hitler’s case Volkswagons and Home Movie Recorders. Was it bad, choice wise? Nothing particularly wrong with either, but it shows he wasn’t that interested in letting market forces decide. Soviets no different… hell, the cock suckers too it one step farther… and metal instrument they produced was stamped into the metal from the factory, so they could permanently control market prices… would remain the same price for decades.
What happened to Russia? It stagnated and the Russian People stagnated too. They are in a major demographics collapse.
What happened in the US and China? The opposite. China went hard socialist but never got rid of it’s top capitalists who choose to back the CPC… they had the expertise to run complex businesses, and China always had a mobile upper class. I’m not talking about the political princlings, but actual capitalists from the older era, still rich as fuck. We never would of opened China up under Nixon without their backing.
China has abandoned it’s one child policy allowing for two, and is considering even scrapping that because of it’s demographics collapse in the youth compared to the old. Their population continues to drop, except where the economy is free, robust, inventive. I’m awaiting for a OTG Tablet from Turnmeon in China… it is both Android and Windows 10… has a faster chip than most tablets on the market and cheaper. I simply can’t find it’s assortment of functions from copycat tablets playing it safe and generic… they took risk, thought about making a rarer kind of elite product, using the same scale of economy approach, but importing parts not often used by Chinese manufacturers. End result is me as a customer… and they get the profit.
That profit goes into their volitile stock exchange, their banking system, their employee checks and bonuses… into taxes.
More wealth = More babies, more families. Inventive economies encourage introverted entrepreneurs and problem solvers.
And what you call Liberalism to me means what? European liberalism tries to contrast itself to the conservative nazis… in the US, the Democrats under the New Deal, our liberals… were the equivalent of the Nazus as far as how they approached thinking through non-competitive economics through NIRA and mass socialist movements (New Deal/Square Deal) and military adventurism (Teddy Roosevelt’s Empire, Franklin’s World War).
I refer to liberalism in a contrast to asserting a psychological state tramatised INTPs like to have, of abstract escapism against organic nasty growth of a a general evolution of society. Interestingly, the Thalamus is what more or less governs our ability to determine incremental trends… but these can be nasty. An example, explaining the reality of how communities actually racially integrate post White Flight, when the remainder stays and has increasing conflict with the African American new commers, is something your average liberal can understand, but they hate the nastiness of it… when just providing a general linguistic formula for racial harmony by fleeing integration is easier. They are cowards and hipocrits… your no different from your average liberal Is_Y, but are more honest… you just don’t want to deal with the messy mechanics of actual desegregation, makes you uncomfortable. You even built up a general, loose theory around it and call it reason. It is a very simple theory to break.
These same people who can calculate general mutational and evolutionary theories of gradual genetic or cultural or artistic change… when they have a deep trauma effect them, rebound out of their depressions by joining the first abstract idealist movement that presents itself to them. Some join churches or cults, you’ll find West Virginians building Hare Krishna temples, or Australians pumping Idho’s,rather lame Upanisad. They join movements like the green party, or fight against GMO foods or carbon taxes. It gives them community and a sense of just cause, identity and a fight for a better future.
It usually is bullshit. Can carbon taxes do anything? Absolutely not, no chance whatsoever. Christianity, Buddhism, Confucianism and Islam caught on because they provided solutions societies desperately needed (and still need, you don’t “evolve” beyond those needs as a society once confronted, it is always a necessity and plays havoc with your politics if you lack those real solutions). Most cults can’t do thus, they end at the level of idolary of a single paracitic individual who dies, and the hoax is up after 3-4 generations tops after their passing. A society rejects a system that is a abstract escape from real organic problems. The communities that survive are the ones willing to search out and find solutions. It us one of our underlining needs as humans, conformity at the expense of individualistic friction… but no one personality type does it the same, and it takes time to merge competing cultures.
The real racists are the ones who avoid it, say everything is fine in linguistic grounds. Kropotkin as the super liberal living in one of the whitest cities in America for example, fighting for abortions for all… as a elderly man stuck in a wheel chair. He is all for minority rights, as long as he doesn’t have to deal with the minorities daily. Societies coming together, overcoming racism are going to be grittier and more organic. A lot of friction will occur, and a lot of name calling and resentment, but the drive to be consilatory also exists and soon follows. Nothing is ever easy about it. And no, name calling isn’t racism, even when it is slurs, if it occurs within thus organic setting. It is the silence and distancing of sterile liberalism that is deafening. That is the guarantee of future pain, of future struggles of countless civilizations to reintergrate it’s dispersed parts, far into the future.
Hence… I don’t like liberals. It is a defence mechanism, stemming from a deluded, isolation a list mindset. Life in general is nasty, but usually survivable, even thriveable. I wouldn’t make the assertion like shiekdmaidrn makes… that perversion IS the REAL… it isn’t, it’s the opposite flipside to the liberal escape, just as abstract. I’m saying, what the concrete experience is is nasty, painful, beautiful, real, and worthwhile.
