I have a forensics compitition tomorrow and I nervous as hell. I’m looking for some helpful advise. So I’m reaching out to the ILP community for that advise. What do you all think I should do?

Try to calm down. It won’t be as bad as you think it is. My first comp. I was nervous as hell. Just go do your thang. It’s your first competition. You probably won’t get straight 1’s. Just accept what you get and learn from your competitors. That’s the best thing. Just relax and watch what they do. See who gets the 1’s and who looks good and see why they got what they did.
The best thing I’ve found to relax is pretend you’re in front of friends. Just pretend like you’re doing something wacky at a party or playing charades or something. That helped me, at least a little.

Just assume that it is. Work out all the stress and everything now. If it doesn’t happen, then you’re fine. If it does, you’re prepared!!

Yeah the problem is My school is about a year old and most of the teachers have multiple classes. My principle is also my forensics teacher so he already busy without having to work with me. Also, my school is going with another school and I’m the only person representing my school.
So you’ll either be ‘that amazing kid representing that whole school’ or ‘some kid from that crummy school’…
No problems, you’ll be fine. I’m almost willing to bet on it.

Seriously, nothing can prepare you for your nerves if it going haywire right now. Can you bring a date to the competition, or your parents or cousins or relatives?
Besides, if your school is too busy to notice, what’s the big deal? Just go.
And imagine the people in the audience as naked glistening bratwursts.
After the competition, treat yourself to something nice and good. I don’t know what’s your flavor, but just do it.

I just heard from my forensics teacher there is no comp tomorrow and there will be no other comps until after Christmas so that’s a little frustrating. But thank you all for your advise.
Good, because they say postponement lessens nervewreck. So, when you’re ready to go after christmas, your nerves will behave better. I think this is true.
