i thought this required a post because of the irony
I just got my head thrown into a wall by a bunch of bouncers because (I was drunk) I saw these two people beating the crap out of some drunk defenseless guy so I tried to intervene. turns out the two guys were bouncers… and the other 2 that were in the immediate area tossed me into a tile wall and proceeded to work me over.
Now… I decided to post this a) cause I’m drunk and b) because it has to do with this site. If you come here, (I know… a simple philosophy forum) you have to expect a certain enviroment. I went to the club knowing what was in store, but decided to act like a hero when I shouldn’t have… and I paid for it.
This site isn’t perfect… and that’s why I love it. Anyone who thinks it will be, o r ever was, is a fucking moron.
PS. Feel free to laugh at my sore and bruised skull/body now.
No offence but you got exactly what you should have expected. As Junior Soprano said to Tony, ‘come heavy, or not at all’. If you are going to try to fight someone larger than you then you need to use ninja skills or possibly a baseball bat…
I don’t think that they are allowed to do that are they? I would contact the police. Bouncers do not have the right to hit you under most circumstances.
Yeah,I hate to hear that stuff though. I knew a two bouncers that killed guys like that. One guy beat a man’s head in with a brick and the other guy killed a man with one punch. Both of them ended up getting second degree murder and a long sentence.
For the drunk the punishment must fit the crime. So, that kind of violence only needs to happen when the drunk is violent.
The reason that I suggested that was because beating someone up is not a just response to them being drunk and annoying. Even if they are getting physical its not. It’s called the continuum of force. An arm lock or a group bouncer action is the right thing to do. I was also motivated by the two murders that I reported here before.
You can’t really beat someone and not expect them to die, if you know what I mean.
Do you remember if they left the other guy alone after bouncing your head off the wall…? If so - then you did the right thing… No…? And even if not, again you did the right thing. Most would have cruised on by.
And PG, it’s the biggest club in Halifax… but by that nature it’s also the shittiest. I hate going there… but my team won a big game so we all went out.
I actually remember saying, ‘Hey man… you’re lucky you didn’t really hurt my head or you’d be in shit’ and they sorta started to ignore me after that
