I miss my dog.

Sheena used to jump up in bed with me right when I was dozing off, and when she curled up to lay down, he groaned out like like every bone in her body was old and stiff, which is was not. If you shifted around out in bed, she’s moan and grumble like you were putting her out. She’s nose at your hand like she was telling you she had to go out, but when you got down to the kitchen, she’d stand in front of the oven, because what she really wanted was for you to put the pizza pan down on the floor for her to lick. She can run like the wind, and when she takes corners, she leans way into them like a motorcycle. She’d stare at you while you ate, but if you caught her doing at it, she’d look away and pretend not to care. I don’t know if she’s alive or healthy. Anyone else missing a dog?

My parents had a bulldog that loved me more than them. She was typically a sullen and lazy dog, but when I came around, she would jump up and become ridiculously hyper, pleading with me to pick her up, play with her.

After my father died, my mother sold her.

I think of her often and wonder if she would remember me if I saw her again.

My two dogs died within a year of each other, the second one died a couple weeks ago. Both were jack russels, and I miss them immensely. They died because my step-father would not let them inside our house, which was where they were accustomed to living prior to my mother’s remarriage.

That sucks, Ucci- what happened?

Girlfriend left me, couldn’t afford my place on my own, had to move into a place I could afford that didn’t allow pets. I made sure the dog I was responsible for found a good home with a friend of mine, but we aren’t on speaking terms anymore, so I don’t know how she’s doing. This is all old news, I haven’t had that dog since November, just started thinking about her late last night for some reason, wrote a thread about it. All said and done, you can keep the girl, but I miss the dog.

OK COmputer: That’s horrible! I feel bad for you, I know how that kind of stuff can feel. I’m glad this thread was timely for you, hope having a place to write about it helps.

This may be just wishful thinking, but in my last visit to Albania about a year ago I went looking for my dog, to then find out it had died and that it had had a bunch of puppies, only one of which was allowed to live.

This puppy grew up pissed off, tied to a leash, barking at everyone(which I’m guessing is why my uncle kept him). So I went up to the dog and like it was expected of him he started barking at me, but I got closer and closer, and the dog quit barking when I was about 2 feet away from the maximum distance his bit would reach and was just looking at me. So I went even closer and pet him over the head and under his neck, and in a tactic I used to do with my old dog(his father) as a measure of good faith and leadership I put my wrist in his mouth and like his father he didn’t bite. Like I said, it’s probably wishful thinking to think that he had any knowledge of me, but I do know I am among very few people that that dog won’t bite.

my girlfriend and I just broke up after 3 years of dating. We found a dog while driving thru a dessert indian reservation here in idaho. He was skinny, his ribbs where showing etc, we took him home with us to boise, and he is the greatest dog ever, with more personality than many people.

Now, we don’t know who should keep the dog. I want to do 50-50, but she someone thinks its hers, well we are both on speaking terms, so anyway, this sucks.

I love dogs. Haven’t had one in probably 20 years, but someday I hope to again.

Even if you & your friend had a falling out, Ucci, perhaps there’d be enough civility for a quick “hey, how’s my dog?”
