My new job pays me quite well, considering I’m single and completely unnattached, and so one of the new toys I’m planning on buying for myself is a notebook computer (which I won’t be able to purchase until the end of next month). Now, I’ve been schooled in computers somewhat, but I really am a dunce when it comes to the inner workings. I know small chunks of useless information (8 bits = 1 byte, etc), but nothing that will help me choose what I need. Someone help?
I don’t really know much about computers either, but my g/f bought an older Asus eePC for three-hundred bucks and it works great for surfing the web, watching videos on the web, and that sort of thing. I tried a couple different netbooks out at various stores and I found it to be a great value for being able to do those things and do them well.
Xunzian is right, the first question you should ask yourself is “what do I want to do with it?” If you mostly want to edit film on it, for example, you should probably get a Mac. I’m just saying.
I’ve got everything settled, but thank you both
