One of the commandments is “I shall not kill” If that was one of gods rule, why does he also tell people to kill others for various reasons.
Why does he influence people to kill others? It doesnt make any sense at all AND god himself even kills people aswell, alot too, so that makes me think why would someone follow his rule if he doesnt even follow it?
If you took that literally, it means you would die because you couldn’t kill any animal or plant life in order to survive. The word is usually translated as “murder” which is specifically the purposeful killing of another human for an evil/immoral purpose which would exclude self-defense or accidents.
Just another reason why you can’t take the Bible literally. If it didn’t get it right the first time, it is not infallible, therefore not under divine protection. We don’t know what parts still need to be corrected, or which parts were “corrected” erroneously.
The 10 commandments are categories, of which the other 613 commandments fall under.
Think of them like the Bill of Rights and the Amendments to them.
There are 10 commandments which act as headings, of which the other commandments elaborate.
Obviously simply saying, “Don’t Kill” wouldn’t cut it.
It’s properly more along the lines of, “In regarding to not killing”; in it’s presentation.
So if you want to know why there seems to be conditions in which it was outlined that it was alright to kill…it is because there are conditions in which it is outlined that it is alright to kill according to the 613 commandments.
Here’s a decent site for ya:

Or, if you want a general summary of the situation, this guy does a fairly nice and clean job for getting the idea:
askdrbrown.org/ask-dr-brown/35-a … -the-torah
That’s similar to asking why he orders individuals to rape or torture other individuals. What are you aiming at (as in what is your point)?

Arguably
I don’t understand what you mean by, “arguably”.
I got that word from an american, it means that the subject in question can be argued about. Just like is the case with philosophy, take philosophical discussions for example.
I understand what the word itself means, I simply didn’t understand your context of the word here as you only used one word instead of a sentence to construct a focus of subject.
C’mon, y’all quit arguablying. I done answered the question.
