I am supposed to live life.
-
I want to live life.
What is the difference?
I am supposed to live life.
I want to live life.
What is the difference?
is there one
That depends on what makes you ‘supposed to’ live, I think.
e.g. If a religion tells you you’re ‘supposed to’ live life, then the difference is that one sentence is far weaker than the other: “I am supposed to live life” except religion is the one that believes in the ‘supposed to’; there is no inherent connection between the subject (=‘I’) and what’s being done.
However, if you believe you’re supposed to live life (and I mean ‘believe’ in the fullest sense), whether through learning from a religion or otherwise, then the two sentences are not different (unless ‘want’ means something more shallow than I presume it does).
I agree with Alun Aedicita, it’s something that is a result of your beliefs. If you trust in God, in the faith, you believe that you’re a child from your parents and you have to justify this honor, then it’s not necessary to enjoy your life and live because you like the feeling. On the other hand ‘living honor’ may be interupted by your requirement for a good life- you have a plan that you have to follow in order to feel good and happy that you’re alive and if you’re doing fine according to the plan, you want to live, otherwise you won’t.
both are true and wrong the first is true in all men feeling ruled by their sense to be in God plan that they saw only from what they thought from his words to them this make the man wrong in what he lies to his soul avoiding the depth of means because of what they fear they will put all their energy to convince wrongly themselves of being in God truth while they suffer in depth of knowing that they are dead
the second sentence appear to be healthier in truth of beings in a world to discover but is wrong as every man on earth knows that He belongs to God Will and when he use this words it is just to play in God the lowest that can’t love Him

Without the definition of supposed to and what is living life I would only go so far as to say that there is a difference at least in the common understandings of the words you’ve used.
If you are supposed to to do something there is some sense of an external pressure or direction. This is as opposed to wanting which tends to be internal.
cheers,
gemty
I like this:
Notice the external/internal correlation.
Millions of people walk through life because they are suppose to; because it is unacceptable in modern society’s standard to kill yourself or give up on life and I don’t think simply religion is to blame for this ‘external pressure’.
There are others though that find an ‘internal pressure’. A ‘want to’ towards life itself. They don’t live life depending on others. They live life for themselves.
One who is suppose to live life is pressured externally while one who wants to live life is pressured internally.
What is this external pressure called and what is this internal pressure called? Any ideas?
God felt an urge to to create a being that would make in Him the truth he saw of Him and above you in what you feel your will are the fate of this being He made scenes outside your will is the fate run in times of Love All God is in One and in all as One this is the part i tend to forget He is not a person as He is everything for instance now making this happening and He is beyond what He said of Him to give for His Will the interactions between the being aware of his true needs and God showing him signs of Love is the merge plan

Nobody else?
Sentence #1 indicates “having to” live life. Sentence #1 indicates a “desire” to live life. Big difference.
I wanna love life (think about it as a sung lyric)
I don’t think the ‘supposed to’ phrase is always reflective of an external pressure because once an external pressure is experienced, it can be adopted, thus becoming an additional internal pressure. While I don’t think the idea of ‘duty’ (supposed to) can arise out of an individual alone, it can be imprinted upon an individual through social situations such that a person wants to do what he/she is supposed to do, or believes he/she is supposed to do something.
Internal pressure: self. External pressure: others.
internal is your soul i like to say heart as your hunting desires your deepest nightmares your reactions in feelings towards all the thoughts of yours or situations you observe external is your brain who is an identity by itself as he likes to make associations of what he sees in real or in abstract words he can function without your heart but in that case he will be too far of life this may be the situation of many scientist or even philosophers they only have one sense being from heart their need to be in a form of what they know is God speech appearance they don’t care about the means they survive painfully from what the brain is giving to the truth of peace being in god on the opposite the heart can function without the brain but in that case it will usually give the face of souls in hate or in love the brain will survive in the sense of being truth with heart he will give incoherent words to the expressions you choose the devil is the mind where the head gives to the soul impressive intelligent expressions of hate and the soul gives to thoughts a powerful sentiment of being content of all they can use from shapes above to imitate a mind as God would be an humble heart who choose always to love respecting all what come from above loving all the thoughts saying intelligence of God and a small brain humble in giving the heart the priority to be love knowing that is what God want in all he can catch to say values of God
all is from God i believe somhow in Him there is a heart who can express his sentiments in power of being anger hate willing loving kindness despite violence or tears and somhow there is a brain who never stop thinking questionning everything he can catch of a feeling or infinite possibilites of words in figures but very powerful in loving the depth of thoughts the truth he will not rest before he sees it all and justify all the questions or doubts may give imperfection in truth before giving to a will of his soul i like that too much the truth love of God
Hmm … what is your self?
Sigh …
I guess we need another kick in the butt.
Alright, fine.
‘Supposed to’ live life.
We are born. From then on we are suppose to live life until we die. Are we not?
As for defining living life: that is irrelevant to the question I am asking.
What is this desire? Are humans the only ones with this ability to desire life? My dog seems to not desire to live life. He just does because he is suppose to. He was born. With this ‘desire’ don’t we have the full potential to achieve anything? I mean anything! Nothing stops our conciousness as human beings. Anything is possible.
How is this not exciting? Find your desire. Grab your world with it, manipulate it and show me what you’re made of. Live like a dog and you are one, wasting away the tools given to you as a human being. Spiral out and join us. Let the rest die.
So can we discuss more about this desire now that I may have your attention?
Murdoc,
I’m quite interested in this… "desire’ you speak of.
It seems to me that your implication is that “desire” is a good thing. Would this be a correct interpretation of your view or are you just referring to “the desire to live”?
If it is the later, I would particularly like to hear how you have reached this conclusion, perhaps…during a kundalini meditation.
Please elaborate with a reasoned statement so that we may scrutinize it for our mutual enlightenment.
Aroused with anticipation.
each one has a will to be in what he feels the best to be. It means that the intensity of desires in being is regardless to what you will make for living in world it will increase your feelings of being in what you think is best of all but that all. So if your aim is to make me say persistance to stay alive in truths i am, it is because of our deep differences in what we feel is good and the power i put to say the agressions on my soul is a different point coming from a true sense of being. and this sense is what confusing you the most because it is what you want for you ways to see you want to kill all my believes to say yours in using of what you keep of me the strength to will. You know why? any bad guy has more strength than i in willing being what he wants but because i love and never hate a soul you want to suck my blood as vampires just to feel the power of being in your dead words.
^bump.
