Dudes! I kid you not: I just WON an iPod Nano! The bookstore of the local community college (I’m a homeschooled, highschool senior, but I take most of my classes there) has a “drawing” each month. Usually they just give away a back-pack and $100 worth of bookstore stuff.
I happened to win a nano though! It is so sweet.
To be honest, I would never have even considered spending $200.00+ on a block of flash-memory, with a screen & headphone-jack sticking out of it…but, now I know better. The Nano is T-H-I-N. I’m afraid it will shatter or something if I hold it the wrong way.
Oh well…I’m done bragging. I’m just exited because I have never had an iPod, and I’ve never won anything in my life before.
BTW: Anyone have a Video iPod? It looks kind of cool.
Hey! Send that puppy to Ben! He’s been looking for a stereo lash up. Something about wanting a plug in both ears to drown out the constant droning noises…
Actually, this reminds me of a… Hey ben, I’ve got this brand new MP4 player as new year present, it’s about 1/4 the size of an ipodnano, silver skined, superbass, altra thin, with functions involving video, audio, ebook, radio, recorder and all the rest. God knows how much it costs. But I don’t want it, the infidel in me can’t even handel a MP3 properly, let alone this weird baby. The idea is that if you fancy, we could negatiate a reasonable price. As I said, it’s brand new, I never really used it except watched the trailor of Fantastic4 on it. But I suppose, specially discount can be allow for the janitor of ILP, postage will be free of charge, I’m feeling rather magnimous at the moment. BMW-Guy, if you want something better than a video ipod, then this is perhaps also your chance. I can the auction for you and ben. Anybody else is feeling , please do not hesitate contact me. Bidding will start at £200, fair enough?
College-expenses have vacuumed up all of the money I had made over the summer. And I’m over-paying my math tutor (she charges $40! I really need to find another tutor, but I’ll be done with highschool in just a few months).
I had previously settled on the iPod Shuffle, which, despite it’s feature-less-ness, has proved to be very reliable and durable.
This nano, though, takes the cake. Apple really has shown the world that it has not lost it’s “golden touch” as the king of Mp3 players.
Besides, Apple IPods are one of the only devices on the market that support the new .AAC (Advance Audio Codec) format, which will eventually replace the .MP3 file format. I’m serious. Just go check out M-PEG’s website for yourself. Also, this might help: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Advanced_Audio_Coding
Uh, was Uniquor trying to auction-off my Nano, or his? I’m confussed…
Ben: when you say that your “Nano sits in its charger”, are you reffering to some kind of “docking-cradle” in which the nano sits upright? My ipod came only with a USB/30-pin connector cable ---- no cradle, whatsoever.
Maybe Apple offers a slightly different packaging setup for European iPod Nanos. Or, did you buy the doc/cradle thing seperately?
BTW:
I’ve been reading a lot of stuff about the Ipod’s battery-woes. I’ve hear that it’s non-user-replacable, and it only is good for about 500 charge-cyles. Is this true?
