Hi to All
Does anybody else think that there is more to “the Ides of March” than a simple US political election with a sexual scandal”?
Just a little disappointed.

Hi Ed,
I’m having a little trouble making the connection. The sexual scandal is the senate screwing all of us and there isn’t even a kiss on the cheek… But maybe there is hope. We ain’t dead yet. Maimed, but not dead. We may beat the oracle yet… about a year from this Nov. 4th.
Hi Tentative,
Maybe I was too obscure, or maybe I missed some symbolism.
I was talking about the movie.
Clooney’s character did not seem like Caesar to me. And no one, in the movie, was stabbed to death by the senators (significantly more drama than the movie).
Either you are sharper than Clooney, which I think is the case, or I missed something (also possible).
Thanks Ed
How funny! I missed it completely. I’m not much of a movie person anymore so I wasn’t even thinking in those terms. But yeah, the couple of movies I’ve seen with Clooney doesn’t make a Caesar image come to mind. But he’d be good in the sex scandal role. I mean, who took care of Cleopatra before she hooked up with Marc Anthony?
Clooney would be great in that role. I can’t see how the Ides would splain U.S. politics. Bedlam would be a more apt description. Anyway, excuse my screwing up your thread. Sorry.
Hi Tent,
You’re right about Clooney for a sex scandal lead.
I liked him for the Ocean’s series and the off center role in “Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?”
Thanks for your response! I appreciate your posts.
Ed
Haven’t seen Ides of March yet, will soon. But has anyone seen the movie Michael Clayton with Clooney? Now THAT was a good movie. Go watch it!
Hi Fuse,
I haven’t seen Michael Clayton yet, but I have heard good things.
I’ll give it a shot.
Thanks Ed
