I play delta blues amaturely, I have a day job. (my music if you are interested myspace.com/theswedishfish)
I just watched a video with very diverse philosophical ideas by the leading delta blues (and world musician) musician in the world, bob brozman. It is a little long, but a lot of interesting ideas for those who have strong feelings for music. These videos are really worth watching, it not just another set of videos.
I love “world music” and adore Hindu-Stan (central asian) instruments. I spent two years trying to learn a sitar-style instrument many moons ago but it was such a long process I decided I could learn 5 other instruments in the same amount of time and gave up.
When I see instruments like he had, it reminds me of my grandparents collection. They were musicians during the 1920’s and had a collection of the most beautiful instruments. Some were covered in mother-of-pearl, others were carved shinning metal similar to the ones in the video. Works of art, all of them and the sounds they produce… yummm.
