Moomin / Mu’min means “Believer” in Islam. It applies to all who believe in God, be it inwardly and / or merely outwardly.
There are even Jinn (spirits) who believe. There was a cartoon when l was a child, about creatures called “Moomins”. I later learned their full title was Moomin-trolls, “trolls” not in the sense of big hairy human beasts, but rather, fey creatures, like fairies with physical forms.
I really think this conforms to the Muslim concept of believing Jinn. I love this version of the theme tune, it oozes virtue, doncha think?
Admittedly, the theme tune used to terrify me as an infant, because it had unusual sounds. Even aubergines would scare me though, because of their freaky colour.
