I received an e-mail from the BBC saying they had listed ILovePhilosophy.com in their online magazine called Collective. Here is what they’ve written about us:
If you’re looking to get involved with philosophical discussions of a moral, semantic or ontological bent (aka, thought rather than deed) then I Love Philosophy is a treat. Even though its name sounds a little trashy. Especially bearing in mind that most groups who claim to be philosophical on the internet are thinly veiled new age tracts. The forum is in-depth, argumentative and very exciting.
I agree, ILP is one of my favourite forums. But the name is rather, trashy. When I first told of the website to friends they laughed at the name and everytime I open the page in a public computer room I feel embarresed to see the words I LOVE PHILOSOPHY written largely across the screen. Great site though, well done. =D>
As I said when you told me ben, this is great news. The next step is to see if we can get the name put into one of Blair’s speeches in the Commons. He didn’t respond to my last letter…
…though perhaps he would respond to the likes of Churchill!
Great news, ben. Though I wonder. If this BBC reporter has such an opinion of this forum, does he also have a login? Most likely, yes, he does. But what is it? I’ll take a chance and say that ben has a pretty good idea
