ILP's MVPs (Missing-Valuable-Posters)

Whatever happened to the Old Greats?

In the last (alomst) two years I have been here, the poster-turnover rate has been rather high. Here are several posters that I admired that for some reason seem to have fallen of the surface of the earth.

In no particular order…

Marshall Mcdaniel

Hermes the thrice great

gavtmc

Polemarchus (who couldn’t love this guy?)

Smooth

Beenajain

phrygianslave the wise

Frighter

Pax Vitae (I know why he is gone, but he was a great guy, so I list his name here)

Kesh

Obviously, this is just my top-poster list. Your list may have different people on them.

But where the heck are they?

Beenajain? I thought her posts were bordering on insanity, if not incomprehensibility. Maybe I was missing something…

Like I said, the members I listed were my favorites — not necessarily everyone else’s.

I’ll be honest with you, it has been too long of time for me to even remember how beenajain posted or what her posts were like. All I remember was that for a period of time, she was a very active poster.

Polemarchus is around

I read a pm from him the other day in fact.

Yes, of course, just thought beenajain was a bit of a strange pick

We could club together for a transfer, I hear that Tommy Gravesen isn’t happy at Real Madrid…

Nah… let’s buy Ballack.

Worth the read, imo:

Pax Vitae
R.D. Basso
Carlos Lavistado
Richard Carrier… =D>

oh yeah, and that GreedyDick was pretty funny.

Pax?

He could write code… I’ll give him that.

Greedy Dick was funny though.

We could get him on a pre-contract agreement to join in the summer, though his signing on fee would be extortionate.

Do they have Ballacks in California ?

I’d go for Cantona. He’s one of the quirkiest and funniest intellectual players I’ve seen. I bet he would be a good contributor.

Cantona would be a wonderful addition - a genuine celeb. Last I heard he was teaching kids to play beach soccer in France, Portugal and Brazil. Though I could imagine this place being right up his street - any ideas about how to contact him?

Failing that, Pele seems to be willing to give his name to almost anything (including the claim that Nicky Butt was the best player of the last world cup) though I’ve heard him speak and he’s evidently a bit thick…

ballack? that sounds like asphyxiation via fellatio…

Just for clarification:

Well, I suppose I am glad to at least hear that someone has seen or talked to Polemarchus recently. For awhile there, I thought he was gone for good.

Despite the fact that he didn’t post a whole ton (this can actually be a good thin for certain people ), each of his posts was thourough, very well-written, and incredibly insightfull. He really was a gem to ILP.

I hope some day he is able to return to posting.

What does the “e” stand for in ephilosopher.info? 'just curious, as I’ve seen a lot of properties with the letter “e” in front of them.

Well, I could tell you, but unless you understand why Apple calls their MP3 player an “iPod” (instead of just, “Pod”), you really would understand… :sunglasses:

…kidding.

Actually, It is supposed to be short for “electronic”. I could not think of any better name, and I refuse to put any more brainpower into coming up with some esoteric, anagram-ic, slap-happy acronym of a domain name. So, I’m going to have to live with simply, “ePhilosopher”.

it’s a good name, should net you a lot of quality-traffic. I’ve been thinking about buying a couple of .info properties, myself. Are they easy to find hosting for?
