Sorry about your troubles, but it sounds like you are landing on your feet! You’ve got a comfortable place to put your head and a job. Neither may be ideal, but you gotta work with what you’ve got. And you’re managing to get an education alongside! That is no small feat.
Just remember to thank the Mormon family with something nice. Gifts may seem superficial, but sometimes a symbol of your thanks is very worthwhile. I remember you talking about them, they seem like good people. I’m glad you lucked out with them.
